Myriad Lite Bullet

Bullet Concepts

Because of the skill-based nature of Myriad Lite, simple kinetic bullets are not enough.

Myriad Lite bullets can implement one of multiple damage values.

Example Ranged Weapon Damages (Myriad PDF p64, Myriad Special Edition p98)

Rating Ranged Weapon
1 Stone launched by hand or crude sling
2 Thrown knife, derringer, hand catapult, thrown brick
3 Throwing axe, pistol, hunting rifle, automatic pistol (full auto)
4 Very heavy pistol (Magnum), assault rifle (full auto), shotgun
5 High-velocity sniper rifle, heavy caliber machine gun (full auto)

Setting Up Myriad Lite Bullet

  1. Find a sandbox with Scripts disabled. If scripts run when you create the bullet, it WILL set the bullet physical, temp-on-rez, and run the cleanup timer which causes the bullet to die within 20 seconds
  2. Create an object to represent the bullet itself, such as a yellow, glowing, 0.050m sized sphere.
  3. (optional) Change the texture name in the bullet script.
  4. (optional) Change the sound file name in the bullet script.
  5. While in the script-disabled area, Drag and Drop the bullet script from inventory into the bullet.
  6. (optional) Drop in a "puff of smoke" texture of your choice.
  7. (optional) Drop in a "ricochet sound" sound file of your choice.
  8. Set the bullet object to "Physical" and "Temp On Rez"
  9. Quickly take your bullet into inventory before the temp on rez deletes it.
  10. Place the bullet object into a firearm object
  11. Modify the firearm script's llRezObject() integer param field to indicate the damage class (integer number from 1 to 5) you want your bullet to have

Quickstart for Players

  • (optional) Wear the hovertext meter
  • (optional) Wear armor, which you should see reported in your chat window.
  • (optional) Wear a holster
  • (optional) Wear a melee or ranged combat weapon
