[12:04 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Hello, everyone.
[12:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: we had a great time at Cuga's Playa yesterday at the end of OSCC
[12:04 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I had to remember how to get here. My LM is out of date.
[12:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: Hello Andrew
[12:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe yes
[12:05 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: oh and oscc went very with (almost) no region crashes
[12:05 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: Hi Cuga
[12:05 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Hi all!
[12:05 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: I came in with all of the game equipment attached to me *grins*
[12:06 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: =)
[12:06 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: :)
[12:06 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: Hi Motoko *grins*
[12:06 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: hihi ^_^
[12:06 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: hello everyone
[12:06 PM PT] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: call
[12:07 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: oh no code changes last week.. lasu opensim devs
[12:07 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: lazy even
[12:08 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: well main event was oscc
[12:09 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: development testing :)
[12:09 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe
[12:09 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes, and a great test on the playa
[12:09 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: that was fun
[12:09 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: wel oscc is on 0.9.2.2
[12:09 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: testing was more on your place :)
[12:10 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: right
[12:10 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: my place has all the unstable stuff from trunk :)
[12:10 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: so good test
[12:11 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: made that woodwork?
[12:11 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: hihihi
[12:11 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: ... might actually be more stable than that release
[12:11 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: well one would hope it is :)
[12:11 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: joking, actually quite stable right now
[12:12 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: 0.9.3 is beeing ok here and other places
[12:12 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: and you are using it now also
[12:12 PM PT] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: gtg
[12:13 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: oops guess a rl tp invite
[12:13 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002 grins
[12:14 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: :)
[12:14 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I took notes from a panel and I knew I was going to have trouble remembering where I wrote them down. Finally found them.
[12:14 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: ir was great to see Beq at OSCC
[12:15 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: yea
[12:15 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: and Philip
[12:15 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I wasn't at the VIP seession due to the Firestorm viewer no longer lets me use my mic.
[12:15 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: sorry, Andrew
[12:15 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Yes. Seeing Phillip from Linden Labs was the big surprise for me. My notes are from that talk.
[12:16 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: I had problems with voice at OSCC, so thanks to Lyr for transcribing.
[12:16 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Andrew theres a new FS feature that might explain that
[12:16 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: it was mostly quick questions and a lot of discussion of various viewers
[12:16 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: *grins*
[12:17 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: i was up all night grading papers and whew...my arms are a wee bit tired...but I had a great time at the conference
[12:17 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: and I picked up the signs, Kayaker and Cuga, so everything is tidy on site
[12:17 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: might be one left where you first placed it, Kayaker
[12:17 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: Melanie and Diva were traveling
[12:17 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Cuga, I'd like to know what that is. I wasn't able to get voice working last year in 6.6.17 either. The viewer has complicated the mic settings. It used to be just Default, ALSA or PulseAudio IIRC. Now there are more than a dozen options when the ability to select the input device isn't grayed out, and it is grayed out mostly.
[12:18 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: We'll move it back to the 2nd weekend for next year
[12:18 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: who needs AI voice to text having Lyr nearby
[12:18 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: I had the same issue during one of the OSCC tours
[12:18 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe well i listen better if I type what is said...
[12:18 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Somebody said to open the sound ,ixer, toggle Voice checkbox off and on again
[12:18 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: worked for me
[12:18 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes
[12:19 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Seems more like a bug since the box is initially checked but sound off
[12:19 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: if it were un-checked by default, perhaps as a security thing, that would make more sense
[12:19 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: oh robert made his presentation abotu what he his doing with webrtc support
[12:19 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: has a region here.. hmm somewhere..
[12:20 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Cuga, done that multiple times.Even restarted viewer between toggles. Tried various mic selections when I was given the option of choosing mic input. I can get the mic symbol at the bottom of the viewer to light up sometimes but after a few moments it goes back to grayed out. It is like the viewer doesn't think voice is available.
[12:20 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: so yeah maybe a solution for linux based grids at least
[12:20 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: Andrew, was that multiplication of mic options on WinCows or Linux? I see it on Ubuntu Linux
[12:20 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: waiting to see
[12:20 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Who knows, we might have a WebRTC voice system available by next yesar.
[12:21 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: or sooner
[12:21 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: Misterblue shared how it support region and grid use
[12:21 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Kayaker, I'm on Linux (Linux Mint).
[12:21 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Why not? WebRTC is open source.
[12:21 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: that means nothing Joe
[12:22 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: in fact not even a ful protocol
[12:23 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Oh?
[12:23 PM PT] Joe Magarac: I haven't looked at it hard enough yet.
[12:23 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: and several dif implementations outthere... all mostly own variats like discord
[12:24 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Phillip Rosedale made some interesting comments. I did find it particularly interesting to hear that he is more than aware of Open Simulator.
[12:24 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: sl is also runing own thing
[12:25 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Ah.
[12:26 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: but simple non spacial audio should work
[12:26 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Phillip said we have done a much better job handling region crossings.
[12:26 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: and seems robert has it working or almost
[12:27 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: I tried buildig robert's code and it built fine and loaded on startup. But no services to make it actually work
[12:27 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Seems work is almost done with misterblue's plugin. Just need the actual broadcast service. If Vivox pulls the plug, there will be a big enough demand that I expect lease-able services popping up.
[12:27 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: but janus gateway is a linux only thing
[12:28 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: than services will use Linux
[12:28 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: shared the Philip Rosedale Fireside Chat from OSCC 2024 as he spoke about OpenSim and PBR issues, etc.
[12:28 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: he wasn't happy with its implementation
[12:29 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: No, he wasn't.
[12:29 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: due to the democratization issue with performance for everyone, etc.
[12:29 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Now I can't see my screen as my cat is standing in the way. :P
[12:29 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe
[12:29 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: no see thru cats
[12:29 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I can't see my notes but PR said hsomething like he thought PBR was a mistake.
[12:30 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Badly implementing 10 year old tech causing issues, no way, who would have thought -.-
[12:30 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: i can't type with left hand... cat happy inside my jacket sleeve
[12:30 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002 smiles
[12:30 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: The introduction of it was a mistake. It caused performance issues for people with lower performance machines and some people didn't like the changes to the look.
[12:31 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: Dr Science says cats get in the way because they don't approve of what you are reading.
[12:31 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe
[12:31 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Smashing your head through a wall and being surprised that your head hurts
[12:31 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: He also made a comment about SL wasn't for everyone as not everyone has a water cooled gaming computer. I identify with the last part of that statement.
[12:32 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes
[12:32 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: I didn't think they discussed anything of real consequence.. They stayed on "safe" topics
[12:32 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Rosedale has a standard talk. I've heard it about four times now, and it doesnt' change much.
[12:33 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I don't recall if, or when, I have heard him talk in the past.
[12:33 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: I like the opportunity for information sharing and possible changes
[12:33 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: 2015 OSCC he spoke from highFidelity as our Keynote...or 2014... around that timeframe
[12:34 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Rosedale interview with Wall Street Journal, two years ago: https://www.wsj.com/articles/second-life-founder-returns-to-take-on-the-metaverse-11642080602
[12:34 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: he used a leap motion and another device to move his lips in world to his rl movements
[12:35 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Another thing I found noteworthy was his mention of Adam (Frisby?) is working on a mobile viewer that uses Unity. There was an OS viewer in development that used Unity. IIRC, Diva had been working on it. I wonder if Adam is basing his work on the previous work.
[12:35 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes, but not to replace the viewer, but to get text messages external to the viewer
[12:35 PM PT] Joe Magarac: The people using Unity are progressing about twice as fast as I am.
[12:35 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: I've toyed around with sinespace ...found it clunky...and laggy...sadly
[12:36 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Sinespace has good building tools, though.
[12:36 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: They made their mobile viewer available to everybody for free about 2 weeks ago
[12:36 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes
[12:36 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: yes..agreed..but sadly I need.. a watercooled-rig...
[12:36 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: The Diva(?) viewer that used Unity was to the point it could render a static region.
[12:36 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Nobody needs water cooling to run SL. But more than a laptop may be required.
[12:36 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: actually air cooled now works fine
[12:37 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: It is more about what graphics card is required.
[12:37 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: oddly I couldn't get sinespace to play nice... osg/firestorm more-or-less work for me
[12:37 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Indeed. Basically, you need about US$250 worth of graphics card.
[12:37 PM PT] Joe Magarac: And that hasn't become cheaper in the last decade.
[12:37 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Triple that
[12:37 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: it worked fine for me, but not easy for students to create content...which is de rigeur for modeling ideas in world quickly
[12:37 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: I bought a mid-level laptop a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised that it can run Firestorm well enough to attend meetings and look around.
[12:38 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: not for ll pbr viewer joe
[12:38 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: yes... sadly I'm on a 950gtx... so a bit ancient
[12:38 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: my system is water and air cooled... still runs hot tho
[12:38 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: for that you need a 4080 :p
[12:38 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: what you really need is some fluorinert... =)
[12:38 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: hope a lower end 4080 now
[12:39 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Motoko, I'm on a GTX 1050. I'd like to run X-Plane but my card won't cut it.
[12:39 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Knowing that some people just stay logged in and thus leave their power hungry computers running all day you could say SL is causing global warming xD
[12:40 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: :)
[12:40 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002 grins
[12:40 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: At the end of the day that route also won't work if you ever want to have a true mobile viewer. Phones have gotten better, but they certainly can't run that level of graphics yet
[12:40 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I could go for some of that at this time of year. I don't much care for negative temperatures outside.
[12:40 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: my arm would get tired holding the phone all day.. lol
[12:41 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: My desktop used to have an Nvidia Quatro that could warm my office in the winter.
[12:41 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Phones are getting there, though. High end phones now cost more than a gamer PC.
[12:41 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: heard that, Kayaker
[12:41 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: well yes adam frisby was there and the was the one who made the new LL mobile viewer, base on Unity engine
[12:41 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: as they said there
[12:41 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes
[12:42 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: tbh I want stereoscopic views...with tracking ... over phones/pbr... =)
[12:42 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: Adam was a early opensim dev, if you don't know
[12:42 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: that's right, get those feature requests in *grins*
[12:42 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: for the viewer
[12:42 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: then went make is own thing, based on Unity
[12:42 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: yes.. viewer specific... I'm just whining.. lol
[12:42 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: but that's good
[12:42 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: as we think of the experience and the tools needed to make it a reality
[12:42 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: I remember hearing from LL..that adding a new graphics engine would be super hard.. if not impossible... maybe I mis-heard
[12:43 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: What I find more annoying is that all this fancy shiny stuff doesn't excuse the fact some things have been on the feature requests for a decade aren't even considered. Updating the rendering in the viewer, but then not using that to implement parcel-level water heights for example or any of the other advances that would be relatively easy to implement on the server end
[12:43 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: wel pbr issues is because it is a chenge to rendering engine
[12:43 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: change..
[12:44 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: They added different sky boxes per altitude, but not different parcels per altitude along with it
[12:44 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Actually, as someone who did add a new graphics engine in Sharpview, the main problem has been that the Rust graphics stack isn't very good yet. I'm currently off trying to figure out how to put bindless Vulkan into WGPU.
[12:44 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: ie to suport the new kind of materials they had to make big changes
[12:44 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: and those changes where the problem.. low performance..
[12:44 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: things unrelated to pbr look diferent, etc
[12:45 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: if you see they added a new Midday env setting
[12:45 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: because the just broke it
[12:45 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Yes, the PBR renderer has real environmental reflections, even on old non-PBR items.
[12:46 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: yes is the diferent rendering ppl where crying for..
[12:46 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: not cry bc got it :p
[12:46 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: NOW cry because got it :)
[12:46 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: more are crying because got it
[12:47 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Upgrading graphics while the usability stays the same, polishing a turd basically
[12:48 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: ^_^
[12:48 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I didn't notice the extra Midday env setting when I went to change the setting last night during the after party.
[12:48 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: the wordpress W4oOS integration content and a few other slides are in the conference schedule
[12:48 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: There is a slight difference in brightness between the new setting and legacy.
[12:49 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: It's really noticeable for many
[12:49 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: I had to gray out a lot of textures with writing on because the weird bloom that gets rendered blurred out the black text otherwise
[12:52 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I just noticed that 7.1.11 has reset a lot of my graphics settings. Mostly turned off a bunch of things I had turned on but the viewer is still imposing a high(er) CPU load on my machine.
[12:52 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Oh make sure you set a max frame rate
[12:52 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: if havent aready
[12:53 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: that can cause your GPU to go crazy
[12:53 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: i set mine to 30fps :)
[12:53 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Imo the worst change in the latest viewers though, moving to SLT as "timezone" which has been causing confusion
[12:53 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: love ppl telling i have 400fps ...
[12:53 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: jezzz
[12:53 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: oh, wow. I've not seen a frame rate this high in a very long time. 96/sec. Best frame rates I've had in the past were 60 or so with my 8600 card.
[12:54 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe
[12:54 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Really hope that gets revert back to PST/PDT, cause a "timezone" that does daylight savings without indicating as such is a level of stupidity that is offensive
[12:54 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Where is the frame rate setting?
[12:56 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Under Rendering you can limit the framerate, shows what you are getting in top right or through the statistics bar ctrl shift 1
[12:56 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Limiting framerate is basically a must now if you want to have stable framerate without jitter, because the spread between high and low can be more than 10fps which is quite unpleasant to the eyes
[12:57 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: The stats box is what is telling me my current rate. I'm not seeing anything in Graphics->Rendering related to frame rate. Searching settings has turned up nothing. Do I need to go in to Debug settings?
[12:57 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: you will find it andrew... ;)
[12:58 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: speaking of framerate... I've noticed if I jump around between grids...after the 2nd or 3rd hop.. my fps is down into the single-digits...
[12:58 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Prefs -> Graphics -> Rendering
[12:58 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: in fact not new fs has it for ages
[12:58 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Ah. I went in to Debug settings and turned on FSLimitFrameRate. Now that frame rate setting is visible under Rendering.
[12:58 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: @andrew... it's a checkbox.. under Miscellaneous Rendering"
[12:59 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: ofc to limit fps you need a gpu that does high fps...
[12:59 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Motoko, found it but it was grayed out until I turned on the ability to limit the rate via a debug setting. It was set to 120. :P I now have it at 29 as I can't seem to hit 30 via the slider.
[1:00 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: gotcha ;)
[1:00 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Much better. My CPU temp is coming down a bit now.
[1:00 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Ideally, your display frame rate or 1/2 of that rate
[1:00 PM PT] Joe Magarac: Next meeting, gotta go.
[1:00 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: I opened up a ticket with FS to revert the timezone back: https://jira.firestormviewer.org/browse/FIRE-34775 Ideally the timezone would be part of the login response so grids located in other places or used only by users from a specific timezone could sync it with theirs directly. As is we only send an offset that determines daylight savings.
[1:00 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: bye Joe
[1:01 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: ok, Joe. Thanks for dropping by.
[1:01 PM PT] Motoko.Karu @login.digiworldz.com:8002: Cya Joe
[1:01 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: We are up to the top of the hour. We have mostly talked about the OSCC. Does anyone have any questions/comments not related to the OSCC for today?
[1:02 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: I am still looking for the asset mime types for documentation purposes
[1:03 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: is the Core Dev Meeting Dark for 12/24 and 12/31?
[1:03 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: as in not meeting?
[1:03 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: why should it be dark?
[1:03 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: lights out
[1:03 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: semm nice days :p
[1:03 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: a euphemism for a holiday
[1:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002 chuckles
[1:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: I was looking at the past logs and noted a trend
[1:04 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: Probably not on the 24th but maybe the 31st
[1:04 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Oh, I misread the calendar by a day. Good question. The next two meeting dates would be Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. In the past I have suggest skipping those meeting dates.
[1:04 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: meetings thinly attended those days?
[1:04 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: yes
[1:05 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: but yeah guess we will skip those days
[1:05 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: the dino there will cry
[1:05 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: my term ends the 23rd with grades due...you guessed it... and new term prep.. I have some mild thoughts about holiday celebrations and sleep...
[1:05 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: well he can make a party with the life guard
[1:05 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: I'll turn her sound back on for that crying.
[1:06 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I'm ok with that. If I remember I may pop in to in case someone shows up that doesn't know we will not meet again until the 6th of January.
[1:06 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: sure
[1:06 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I'm not in the mood to do anything much for Christmas this year.
[1:06 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: ahh kayaker you need to come here more to feed her..
[1:06 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: so we'll meet next week and then those who wish...
[1:06 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: or one day she may feed on us :9
[1:07 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr, I thought we just said we will skip the next couple weeks. :)
[1:08 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: If anyone does show up we could have an informal gathering.
[1:08 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: The next official meeting will be January 6th.
[1:09 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: It's the 10th Andrew, the 17th is a regular day
[1:09 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: What do you mean by the 10th?
[1:09 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: You still got next weeks meeting :)
[1:09 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Oh, right. Still one more meeting before we break for the season. :)
[1:10 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: The cat jumped up in front of my monitor again.
[1:10 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: it's a signal *grins*
[1:10 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: Can you sit on the dino?
[1:10 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: fun that 2 screens do not fool them
[1:11 PM PT] Vincent.Sylvester @hg.zetaworlds.com: If we feed Ubit enough coffee by then we may have some big changes as well
[1:11 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: No, but you can shoot her.
[1:11 PM PT] Ubit Umarov: they do know the one that matters more :)
[1:11 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: maybe... we have a t rex that allows a passenger in VH
[1:11 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: but it does not move with freely moving limbs, more of a glide ...needs work
[1:12 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Perhaps we need to find the key that goes in to Ubits back and wind him up some more. :)
[1:12 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: love how the dino's tail moves
[1:13 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Changing that frame rate setting dropped my CPU temp by 16 degrees C, BTW.
[1:14 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: good news!
[1:14 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: when Kayaker rezzed it at oscc for an animesh talk a few years ago, I loved it...
[1:14 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Anything else for today? I want to get out while the outside temperature is warm ( 7C) for this time of year.
[1:14 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: hehe it snowed again here the last 2 days
[1:14 PM PT] Cuga.Rajal @rajal.org:9000: seems like were done
[1:15 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: We had fog here this morning and it still was hanging in their air at lunch time. The snow of two days ago already melted.
[1:15 PM PT] Lyr.Lobo @cc.opensimulator.org:8002: thanks!
[1:15 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: I think we have reached the end of any meeting topics for today so I will bring this meeting to a close.
[1:15 PM PT] Kayaker Magic: Here in CA the closest thing I get to a white xmas is very thick fog
[1:16 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: We will meet again next week and then have a break until the 6th of January.
[1:16 PM PT] Andrew Hellershanks: Thank you all for coming. Hope your holiday plans (if any) are going well. See you again next week.
