[11:03] Ubit Umarov: hope all ok with him
[11:03] Ubit Umarov: also afk at discord
[11:03] Gavin.Hird yeah
[11:03] Selby.Evans Hi everyone
[11:03] Andrew Hellershanks: I knew I would forget about the OSGrid town hall meeting. :P
[11:03] Ubit Umarov: or not logged even
[11:03] Gavin.Hird Hi Selby
[11:03] Andrew Hellershanks: It was this past weekend.
[11:03] Ubit Umarov: hi
[11:03] Andrew Hellershanks: Hello, Selby
[11:03] Ubit Umarov: yes i catch the end of it
[11:04] Ubit Umarov: osg is doing to have new machines for assets
[11:04] Ubit Umarov: migration will take months :)
[11:04] Andrew Hellershanks: :)
[11:04] Gavin.Hird will it?
[11:04] Ubit Umarov: with possible a week downtime at end
[11:05] Gavin.Hird I don't get that but OK
[11:05] Andrew Hellershanks: They have a lot of data to move.
[11:05] Gavin.Hird sure -live mirror and swap
[11:07] Gavin.Hird Hi Kayaker
[11:07] Kayaker Magic: So Dev Outreach is still down. Bill is still MIA?
[11:07] Ubit Umarov: hi
[11:07] Ubit Umarov: yes he his
[11:07] Kayaker Magic: Hi all!
[11:07] Selby.Evans Hi Kayaker
[11:08] Ubit Umarov: so andrew what news?
[11:08] Ubit Umarov: :)
[11:09] Andrew Hellershanks: I completed updating the offline.php file to use PDO calls instead of the mysql calls it used to use.
[11:10] Ubit Umarov: you mean your offline module..
[11:11] Andrew Hellershanks: There have been some updates this week related to warp3D, and some updates/changes re: some LSL functions.
[11:11] Ubit Umarov: yes a small fix to warp3d. some images where bad :(
[11:11] Andrew Hellershanks: I also see a couple of changes were made to uglysky.
[11:12] Ubit Umarov: lsl, added llXorbase64
[11:12] Ubit Umarov: a contribution with some changes
[11:12] Ubit Umarov: uglysky, found we had still some wrong textures
[11:12] Andrew Hellershanks: Enhanced osStopSound by supporting LINK_* constants
[11:13] Ubit Umarov: that need to match closer to sl ones, or water will look diferent
[11:13] Ubit Umarov: but guess most viewers do ship with those now
[11:14] Ubit Umarov: at a point fs beta did not have several of those assets
[11:14] Andrew Hellershanks: ok
[11:15] Ubit Umarov: well meanwhile Diva, did start streaming on twitch about opensim
[11:15] Andrew Hellershanks: It isn't my offline module. The offline.php file is one of several helper files that are part of the old wiredux system. I'm updating some of those files to work with PDO calls as mysql_* calls no longer exist in PHP7.
[11:15] Ubit Umarov:
[11:16] Andrew Hellershanks: Yes. I caught part of her first video stream about setting up WiFi.
[11:16] Ubit Umarov: she did some streaming about configuring a grid she will be using for her students
[11:16] Ubit Umarov: don't know when she will stream next :)
[11:17] Kayaker Magic: Sounds like it was a 3 part series and all 3 are done now.
[11:17] Ubit Umarov: no idea
[11:17] Andrew Hellershanks: The first of several videos that are a start to documenting current state of Open Sim.
[11:18] Ubit Umarov: where a introdution to what she would be doing
[11:18] Andrew Hellershanks: That was only a 3 part series? When I saw the first stream I didn't see an indication of how many parts were expected.
[11:18] Andrew Hellershanks: Diva probably didn't know at that time.
[11:18] Ubit Umarov: guess she will stream when she wants
[11:19] Ubit Umarov: she did mention how to stepup fx into a virtual box for students to shave..
[11:19] Ubit Umarov: fs...
[11:19] Gavin.Hird to shave?
[11:20] Ubit Umarov: share
[11:20] Ubit Umarov: also :)
[11:20] Ubit Umarov: well if you follow it, twtich will send emails when a stream start
[11:21] Ubit Umarov: you should get the email before the end of the stream ;)
[11:21] Selby.Evans Has a YouTube channel
[11:21] Ubit Umarov: yes
[11:21] Gavin.Hird probably shaved in the middle of the European night anyway
[11:21] Ubit Umarov: she will backup the streams there
[11:21] Selby.Evans
[11:22] Ubit Umarov: tu selby.Evans
[11:22] Ubit Umarov: and ty
[11:23] Ubit Umarov: ohh a 7years old movie there :)
[11:23] Gavin.Hird vintage
[11:24] Ubit Umarov: guess not many more news on opensim :(
[11:25] Andrew Hellershanks: Not unless you want to give us a hint of upcoming changes.
[11:25] Gavin.Hird nah. My fatehr died last Sunday, so RL kept me busy last week
[11:25] Ubit Umarov: alicia made a few commits adding some Estates creating things, that may be usefull on same cases
[11:25] Kayaker Magic: AHH! So sorry to hear that Gavin!
[11:25] Gavin.Hird done a bit more work on the Mac viewer for compatibility with new Macs
[11:25] Andrew Hellershanks: I'm looking at updating more helper functions from wiredux to use PDO calls.
[11:26] Andrew Hellershanks: Sorry for your loss, Gavin.
[11:26] Ubit Umarov: Yeah :(
[11:26] Gavin.Hird Thanks. It was expected for a while – dementia, so it was better for him not to be confused and in pain any more.
[11:27] Ubit Umarov: :(
[11:27] Kayaker Magic: Question: When a script calls llGetGridName, does the region server have to do an HTTP request to robust to get the answer?
[11:28] Lyr.Lobo tiptoes in quietly
[11:28] Gavin.Hird Hi Lyr
[11:28] Lyr.Lobo Hi Gavin *smiles*
[11:28] Ubit Umarov: no Kayaker
[11:28] Kayaker Magic: Welcome Lyr! Here to promote the party that starts in an hour or so?
[11:28] Andrew Hellershanks: Kayaker, I wouldn't expect that should be needed but Ubit would be more likely to know where it gets the information.
[11:28] Andrew Hellershanks: Hello, Lyr.
[11:28] Ubit Umarov: hi Lyr :)
[11:28] Lyr.Lobo chuckles
[11:29] Lyr.Lobo First time visiting
[11:29] Ubit Umarov: but i will need to change that current code
[11:29] Lyr.Lobo Hello, Andrew and Ubit, great to see you
[11:29] Kayaker Magic: ?you have to change osGetGridName? Why?
[11:29] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr, glad to have you. Pull up a seat on one of the couches.
[11:30] Ubit Umarov: always a pleasure to see you Lyr :)
[11:30] Lyr.Lobo grins and thanks you
[11:30] Selby.Evans Hi Lyr
[11:30] Lyr.Lobo Heya Selby!
[11:30] Ubit Umarov: bc it is still lookin around config settings
[11:31] Ubit Umarov: and i did centralize that
[11:31] Ubit Umarov: even letting grid to override local
[11:31] Ubit Umarov: gridname is a grid thing :)
[11:32] Ubit Umarov: ohh wait.. it does go to net also
[11:32] Ubit Umarov whispers: insane :)
[11:33] Kayaker Magic: Did it used to do an HTTP request? I thought it used to and that is why it has such a high threat level. Because it has to wait for the responce.
[11:34] Kayaker Magic: Sorry about the technobabble Lyr
[11:34] Kayaker Magic: I checked my Lord and Master (Google Calendar) and the Avacon Grid Party is at 3PM grid time.
[11:35] Lyr.Lobo laughs
[11:36] Andrew Hellershanks: Thanks for the heads up, Kayaker.
[11:36] Ubit Umarov: ok changed osGetGridName
[11:36] Lyr.Lobo I'm debugging labs and find the techno not a babble, but relaxing, Kayaker
[11:36] Ubit Umarov: ohh same for osGetGridLoginURI
[11:36] Lyr.Lobo true *grins*
[11:36] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr, FYI, we normally meet in Dev Outreach but that region is currently unavailable.
[11:37] Lyr.Lobo yes, went there first
[11:37] Lyr.Lobo and thank you
[11:37] Lyr.Lobo followed the breadcrumbs
[11:37] Andrew Hellershanks: ok, good. They didn't get eaten by the local bird population. :)
[11:37] Lyr.Lobo grins
[11:37] Ubit Umarov: well login is something im not caching grr
[11:38] Ubit Umarov: better delete that function no?
[11:38] Ubit Umarov: :p
[11:40] Ubit Umarov: having scripts going web directly on exec threads is so so bad :(
[11:41] Andrew Hellershanks: I was hoping there would be more people here today. I wanted to ask opinions on whether we should meet next two weeks or pass on them for the holidays and not meet again until the new year.
[11:41] Ubit Umarov: specially on Y that uses a lot less exec threads
[11:41] Ubit Umarov: what holidays Andrew?
[11:41] Lyr.Lobo /ma laughs
[11:41] Ubit Umarov: seems all will be under lockdown
[11:42] Gavin.Hird not here
[11:42] Kayaker Magic: Yeah, my RL family Xmas celebration is a Zoom meeting now.
[11:42] Ubit Umarov: germanyy france uk all imposing restrictions
[11:42] Gavin.Hird ouch
[11:42] Andrew Hellershanks: yea, I know. :P They have locked down my area again as of midnight this past Monday.
[11:42] Ubit Umarov: UK found a new mutation that infects faster
[11:42] Andrew Hellershanks: oh, wonderful. :(
[11:43] Ubit Umarov: they hope the new vaccine will still work on it.. but no tests still
[11:43] Gavin.Hird and the health authorities here say they don't even know if the vaccine will work on th mutated version
[11:43] Ubit Umarov: yeah no tests to tell, still
[11:43] Andrew Hellershanks: From what I heard the UK stopped using the first vaccine as it wasn't proving effective.
[11:44] Gavin.Hird well
[11:44] Ubit Umarov: well there are tons of mutations detected.. but only some 3 major ones listed
[11:44] Gavin.Hird there was a screwup in the testing
[11:44] Ubit Umarov: yeah oxford made a mes
[11:44] Ubit Umarov: mess
[11:44] Gavin.Hird the test subjects that got the wrong dosing had a success rate over 90
[11:45] Ubit Umarov: yeah on the oxford one
[11:45] Gavin.Hird the test subject with the right dosing had a success rate of 64
[11:45] Ubit Umarov: approval of that is now deleayed
[11:45] Ubit Umarov: uk and usa are using the pzf??? one
[11:45] Gavin.Hird they are talking of merging the Russian vaccine with the Phiffer as the Russian has shown 91% effective
[11:45] Ubit Umarov: that EU may approve at 23th
[11:45] Andrew Hellershanks: Pfizer one, afaik.
[11:46] Ubit Umarov: well -80C storage temp is nasty
[11:46] Andrew Hellershanks: The second vaccine that is supposed to be 5% more effective is coming soon but I heard something about it two shots being involved.
[11:46] Lyr.Lobo yes
[11:46] Gavin.Hird cold winter day -nothing ;-)
[11:46] Ubit Umarov: but industry uses LN2 for ages... even some cookers use it now
[11:46] Ubit Umarov: so mb not that bad
[11:46] Andrew Hellershanks: I don't follow the news about this stuff that much. It can be too depressing. I mostly have the radio on in the morning to catch the weather forecast.
[11:46] Ubit Umarov: and ln2 is not expensive
[11:47] steevithak x: Pfizer is approved in US now. Moderna should be approved next week.
[11:47] Gavin.Hird Russian, Phiffer and one more is a two phase vaccine
[11:47] Ubit Umarov: i wasted tons of it in other life :)
[11:47] Gavin.Hird phase two is only aplied if the first shows immunity response
[11:47] steevithak x: First shipments of Pfizer vaccine arrived here in Dallas, Texas on Monday
[11:48] Ubit Umarov: well also LHe2.. not that cheap.. shhhh don't tell
[11:48] Ubit Umarov: err He2 ??? LHe
[11:48] Kayaker Magic: Noble gasses don't make paired molecules?
[11:49] Gavin.Hird but I am not going to be first in line for that poison
[11:49] Ubit Umarov: yeah tehy do things with van der waals (???) bounds
[11:49] Ubit Umarov: i said other life no?
[11:49] Lyr.Lobo Healthcare staff received doses yesterday here in Colorado
[11:49] Gavin.Hird Price Harry and Meghan should be lining up for first shots, so they can show their wokeness
[11:49] Ubit Umarov: i dont remember today's lunch... how can i remember other life things?
[11:49] Gavin.Hird Prince*
[11:50] Andrew Hellershanks: Gavin, I heard some stats about how many people won't get the vaccine, how many aren't sure, and how many will. IIRC, 16% each for won't and unsure, IIRC.
[11:50] Ubit Umarov: but yeah possible it is He2 also
[11:50] Ubit Umarov: Lyr sure knows
[11:50] Andrew Hellershanks: Getting close to the top of the hour. Any more OpenSim questions/comments?
[11:50] Ubit Umarov: she knows everything
[11:51] Lyr.Lobo winks
[11:51] Andrew Hellershanks: :)
[11:51] Gavin.Hird zink+quercetin+vitD3 for now
[11:55] Andrew Hellershanks: This coming Tuesday is just three days before Christmas. I don't know how many people will be out shopping, if any stores are open other than grocery stores. I'll pop in here that day in case anyone who isn't here today shows up.
[11:56] Andrew Hellershanks: If no one shows up I can use the time to finish my Christmas gift wrapping. :)
[11:56] Gavin.Hird :-))
[11:56] Lyr.Lobo Lovely thought, Andrew
[11:56] Ubit Umarov: well xmas shopping was reason for germany to increase lockdown rules
[11:56] Kayaker Magic: I'll probably swing by.
[11:56] Gavin.Hird same here
[11:57] Gavin.Hird it is in the evening anyway, so too late for shopping
[11:57] Lyr.Lobo I haven't been shopping in a very long time, other than a quick turkey trip *grins*
[11:57] Andrew Hellershanks: ok.
[11:57] Kayaker Magic: Shopping? Isn't that always done on line?
[11:57] Gavin.Hird I'll have to let snow fall all over my grid by then
[11:58] Andrew Hellershanks: We get our food delivered. Our turkey arrived about a week ago. Already ordered online and received the stuff I need for gifts.
[11:59] Ubit Umarov: my parents once decided to buy a baby turkey
[11:59] Ubit Umarov: to grow then eat at xmas
[11:59] Lyr.Lobo aw
[11:59] Ubit Umarov: he died by old age :p
[11:59] Lyr.Lobo yes *Grins*
[11:59] Andrew Hellershanks: <insert appropriate seasonal greeting based on country of origin> to everyone.
[11:59] Ubit Umarov: was one of our pets :)
[12:00] Andrew Hellershanks: Never heard of anyone having a pet Turkey.
[12:00] Lyr.Lobo Happy Holidays! *smiles*
[12:00] Gavin.Hird turkey is not used for Christmas here
[12:00] Lyr.Lobo I have... pets are pets
[12:00] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr, Don't make me point you to a Jeff Dunham clip with Walter. ;)
[12:00] Selby.Evans Must go -- bye all
[12:00] Lyr.Lobo laughs
[12:00] Lyr.Lobo bye Selby!
[12:00] Kayaker Magic: My parents raised turkeys every year. When I was a kid it was my responsibility to herd them into the barn when it rains. If you don't, they are so stupid they will sit out in the rain and die of hypthermia.
[12:00] Andrew Hellershanks: ok, bye Selby.
[12:00] Gavin.Hird Bye Selby
[12:00] Lyr.Lobo yes
[12:00] Ubit Umarov: similar happened also with a sheep
[12:00] Kayaker Magic: *hypothermia
[12:01] Ubit Umarov: idea was to grow it. and sell or something
[12:01] Ubit Umarov: turned into a pet and died of old age also :)
[12:01] Andrew Hellershanks: Ubit, their wool didn't keep them warm enough?
[12:01] Kayaker Magic: We grew our own and ate them. Turkeys, sheep, chickens.
[12:02] Ubit Umarov: ohh taking wood out was fun
[12:02] Kayaker Magic: "same thing" in Ubit's case means "became a pet"
[12:03] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr:
[12:03] Ubit Umarov: well chickens are .. chickens
[12:03] Kayaker Magic: Vegetables on legs.
[12:03] Ubit Umarov: actually dynosaures it seems
[12:04] Andrew Hellershanks: Lyr, Check out the bit around 1:40. :)
[12:04] Lyr.Lobo me laughs at the grump
[12:04] Andrew Hellershanks: yea, that's Walter for you. :)
[12:04] Ubit Umarov: fun after ppl noticed that, tyranus rex started to show up on movies looking likea big chichen :)
[12:04] Lyr.Lobo I couldn't agree more, Andrew
[12:05] Kayaker Magic: I saw a cartoon with the Velociraptors having big fluffy feathers and looking like parrots. If you see a parrot without feathers, it starts to make sense.
[12:05] Andrew Hellershanks: If anyone wants some cheering up take a look at the video with Jeff Dunham and Peanut on the subject of passwords ->
[12:06] Lyr.Lobo hehe
[12:07] Andrew Hellershanks: As we don't have much to discuss today related to OpenSim I'll close todays meeting. If you have time this coming Tuesday I'll be here and we can just talk about our plans for the (non-?)Christmas holiday if there isn't much to talk about related to OpenSim.
[12:08] Andrew Hellershanks: Thank you all for coming. See you again next week.
