[10:57] Selby.Evans @grid.kitely.com:8002: Reminder to save some time on the weekend of Dec 9-10. for the OSCC. All online--no travel, no hassle, no waiting in line. The conference is as close as your computer. If you are on a Hypergrid-connected grid, the conference is about 30 seconds from wherever you are.
[10:58] Kayaker Magic: You must register to reserve a space, attendance is limited.
[11:06] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Welcome everyone to another of the series of weekly meetings. I can only stay about an hour today. If the meeting runs longer it will have to be put on automatic. :)
[11:07] Kayaker Magic: I'm tempted to create an avatar named Unknown User, just to mess with everyone.
[11:07] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: lol :_)
[11:07] Sheera Khan: someone did that already ^^
[11:07] George Equus: and an NPC to replace you entirely  :)
[11:08] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org grins at Kayaker.
[11:11] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I did do a bit more on the PHP based mutelist module but I haven't finished it yet. I just have to make some changes to the method used to pass the data between the grid code nad the PHP side of things. The rest of the changes needed are done.
[11:11] Ubit Umarov: well and im half way on a robust one
[11:11] Ubit Umarov: ::)
[11:12] Ubit Umarov: did so far standalone part
[11:12] Ubit Umarov: uff all 5 or 6 files of it grrr
[11:12] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: :)
[11:13] Sheera Khan: And some residents are already very fond of the current viewer cache basesed mute list. A fully working one will make them happy :-)
[11:13] Ubit Umarov: robust is some 3 more files grrr
[11:13] George Equus hand Bill a safety helmet
[11:13] Ubit Umarov: and need to recover my test grid again
[11:14] Sheera Khan: the viewer based solution even works in 0.8.2+
[11:14] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I may have more time to finish off the PHP based module this week. I've been working on a serious issue in KiCad the last week or so.
[11:14] Ubit Umarov: the use of cache was almost there
[11:14] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I finished the work I was doing on that as of today.
[11:14] Ubit Umarov: just a message was missing to make it a bit better
[11:16] Kayaker Magic: Bill, when you arrived, you were wearing an outfit with a morphing texture, how was that done?
[11:16] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: ummm, I'm just wearing a mesh suit, so it was most likely just the LOD rezzing
[11:19] Kayaker Magic: Hmm, quiet today. I'll have to go break something before next week.
[11:19] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Any new issues for todays meeting?
[11:19] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002 is good at breaking things, just ask Ubit
[11:19] Ubit Umarov: :)
[11:20] George Equus: Generally speaking, rez have been bit slow on log in past couple of weeks for me. Myself notably
[11:20] Sheera Khan: ok, so I've got a question... is it safe to use the viewer based mutelist in 0.8.2 based regions?
[11:20] James.atLLOUD @hg.osgrid.org: Just to clarify, Andrew has been working on mutelist to server - and Ubit is also working on this, but in Robust? Did I get that?
[11:20] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: I don't see a rezzing issue but I'm cheating ...
[11:20] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002 points at Ubit
[11:21] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: James, right.
[11:21] James.atLLOUD @hg.osgrid.org: OK ty. :)
[11:21] Kayaker Magic: Oh, who did the new logon page for OSGrid, did you notice you can click on teleport before logging on and come directly here?
[11:21] George Equus: Not a big problem for me
[11:21] Sheera Khan: Andrews solution depends on external PHP
[11:21] George Equus: rez being slow that is
[11:21] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Sheera, AFAIK, mutelist isn't saved between logins under 0.8.2
[11:21] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: I'm on board with the external PHP module, easier to hook into for external apps
[11:22] Sheera Khan: the viewer based ML works in 0.8.2+ of Metro
[11:22] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: It works till you clear your cache, then poof
[11:22] Sheera Khan: it is viewer specific though since it depends on the cache
[11:23] Sheera Khan: right, our residents will love a fully implemented ML when it's available
[11:24] Sheera Khan: but I can forward a big "Thank you" from several of our members for the current cache based solution
[11:26] Ubit Umarov: 0.8.3 was the 08x before getting the merge
[11:26] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I didn't think so. People like using other version numbers. Sometimes because they have applied their own patches to code. Makes it hard for us core developers to know what version of code is actually being used.
[11:26] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: still on the osgrid download page
[11:26] Ubit Umarov: actually thing merge got inot 0.9.3 before we did change version to 0.9
[11:26] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: 3rdRock Grid and DigiWorldz are both using 0.8.3 with custom post fix's / and as far as I can tell are not openly sharing the code base :_(
[11:27] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: I'm not sure what they call it 8.2.xx or 8.3x
[11:28] Ubit Umarov: 0.8.3.dev.41b2855 - [31.9mb] 10-21-2015 well at this date there was already a 0.9 if i remember
[11:28] Ubit Umarov: but 0.8.3.dev was the last bf merge
[11:28] Ubit Umarov: or around that
[11:28] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: my contact on DigiWorldz told me it was only available as a service rendered if I wanted to use it on my grid :_(
[11:29] Bill.Blight @grid.opensim.life:8002: yeah, but let's be honest, osgrid has not been real reliable at it's job as a test development grid .. :P
[11:29] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: in other words / Pay or No Play :_(
[11:29] Ubit Umarov: it is on our git i guess
[11:29] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Ubit, ok. I don't have a directory with 0.8. code checked out.
[11:30] Ubit Umarov: but not sure its head does not have part of the merge on it.. can' remember
[11:30] Ubit Umarov: ( a initial merge... still nasty )
[11:33] Kayaker Magic: Who is in charge of this region? That pinball machine noise is starting to get on my nerves, can it be silenced?
[11:34] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Pinball machine? I don't hear it.
[11:34] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: me either
[11:34] Selby.Evans @grid.kitely.com:8002: I don't have my sound on
[11:34] Kayaker Magic: It is half a region away, checking my sound settings.
[11:34] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I put my sounds up to max and still heard nothing.
[11:35] James.atLLOUD @hg.osgrid.org: temporarily derender also does sound
[11:35] Ubit Umarov: or mute lol
[11:35] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Kayaker can mute the device if he can find it.
[11:35] Kayaker Magic: I tried muting it, no effect. I assume mute means no chat?
[11:35] Ubit Umarov: region owner answer: [11:35] paela argus: he can disable the sound :)
[11:36] Ubit Umarov: ;)
[11:36] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: afaik, mute should stop all of the chat, sounds, and particle effect from a device.
[11:36] Ubit Umarov: you can select what
[11:37] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: hm... maybe that depends on the viewer. When I used mute it was all or nothing.
[11:39] Ubit Umarov: ( silence )
[11:39] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org sighs
[11:40] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: My cat wants to play. She just dropped one of her toys by my feet.
[11:40] Sheera Khan: :-)
[11:40] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Would you believe the toy is a cheap plastic spoon like you would get from a fast food place?
[11:40] Sheera Khan: Looks like there are no urgent issues today...
[11:41] Ubit Umarov: one of mine seems to have remembered that eating is her favorit activity
[11:41] James.atLLOUD @hg.osgrid.org: believe the spoon
[11:41] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: When things get this quiet I suggest closing the meeting early then find that gets the discussions going again. :)
[11:42] Ubit Umarov: hyeee my mouse cord is not food silly cat....
[11:42] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Not food. Just a cat toy. :)
[11:43] Kayaker Magic: Hey! The pinball sound stopped! RELIEF!
[11:43] paela argus: i have removed the sound enter in this parcel
[11:44] Andrew Hellershanks: I was thinking Kayaker was just hearing things. :)
[11:45] Kayaker Magic: I hear dead pixels.
[11:45] Andrew Hellershanks: :)
[11:45] Ubit Umarov: hmm guess the objects mute flags depends what it has active in viewer perpective
[11:45] Andrew Hellershanks: Any other topics for today or do we get to head out early?
[11:46] Ubit Umarov: i had seem them on FS not no this sit now :)
[11:47] James atLLOUD: OS Community Conference in what, 2 weeks?
[11:47] Kayaker Magic: eeek!
[11:47] Ubit Umarov: oops already?
[11:47] Andrew Hellershanks: Yes, it is coming up shortly.
[11:47] Ubit Umarov: time does fly
[11:47] Ubit Umarov: but at least this year we do have 0.9 released :p
[11:48] James atLLOUD: There are some amazing things on the schedule.
[11:48] Andrew Hellershanks: The weekend of December 9? That's probably why that date seemed familiar. I have a family birthday on that day.
[11:48] James atLLOUD: http://conference.opensimulator.org/2017/
[11:48] Kayaker Magic: Too bad the conference center is still on 0.8.2
[11:48] Ubit Umarov: tell you family to change the birthday
[11:48] Andrew Hellershanks: The release of 0.9 will make for some lively discussions at the conference.
[11:49] Andrew Hellershanks: Apart from my work on the PHP based mutelist module my next priority will be to do more work on the 0.9 release notes
[11:50] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: yay to that :_)
[11:50] James atLLOUD: That's awesome Andrew, thank you.
[11:50] Andrew Hellershanks looks at 2,000 some lines still to look over.
[11:50] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: ouch :_(
[11:50] James atLLOUD: lloud 2018 resolution - setup a grid.
[11:51] Andrew Hellershanks: I'll be doing more of an overview. I'm not going to get in to the amount of detail I might have other wise done.
[11:51] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: thats still a lot of work / thanks Andrew :_)
[11:51] Andrew Hellershanks: When I was last discussing additions for the release notes with the other core devs some of those suggestions didn't get added .
[11:52] Andrew Hellershanks: Unkown, yes. That's why I'm at a point I'll just look for the more important changes and not all of the details I could otherwise add.
[11:52] Andrew Hellershanks: Unknown, the list is still down from the ~3,300 lines or so that it was at first.
[11:53] Ubit Umarov: those are not changes.. are commits.. not the same thing
[11:53] James atLLOUD: has anyone heard if Windows Mixed Reality would make it easier for a view to use a headset?
[11:53] Andrew Hellershanks: Ubit, commits change things. :) Not all of those things are note worthy to users.
[11:53] Unknown.UserUPUUI @thekaz.ddns.net:8002: I don't use Windows / so I have no Idea :_(
[11:54] Ubit Umarov: yeap but some where dead ends.. reverted later etc
[11:54] Ubit Umarov: but ok.. good insomnia reading...
[11:54] Andrew Hellershanks: Ubit, sure. I skip those things. Many of those are for things that weren't worth noting.
[11:55] Andrew Hellershanks: It happened again. Just as I was about to say we can wrap up the meeting things picked up again. :)
[11:55] Andrew Hellershanks: Almost wrapped it up at quarter to. :)
[11:57] Andrew Hellershanks: Check the conference website to see what is coming up at this years event and mark your calendars.
[11:58] Andrew Hellershanks: I was about to wrap it up for this week anyway. I'm going to head out for a walk after we are done.
[11:59] Andrew Hellershanks: Thank you all for coming. See you again next week.
