[11:07] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: This has been an interesting week.
[11:08] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: How Andrew?
[11:08] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: The number of bugs on the 0.9 bug list in the countdown to 0.9 has gone up slightly but many of the issues on the list have been addressed.
[11:09] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: There are just 5 issues remaining on the list to be squashed.
[11:09] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I think Diva has set out on a quest to squash regressions in 0.9
[11:09] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org nods
[11:10] Robert Adams: I'm helping where I can... I've been looking at performance reports
[11:10] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: The list did get split up in to old bugs and regressions. All items in the regressions section are marked off as fixed.
[11:10] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Robert, are you finding many reports of performance issues?
[11:10] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I don't think collisions with object set to phantom has been fixed
[11:11] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, Is there a mantis for the issue?
[11:11] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: HypergridBusiness Maria's HG teleporter script is one that is affected
[11:11] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: yes, there is one filed in January by someone else
[11:12] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I don't have the number right now, but let me look
[11:12] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: hm... a collision issue? That sounds like something that might be physics related.
[11:12] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, ok.
[11:12] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: 7819
[11:13] Robert Adams: there are reports of high CPU usage and some on editing and object
[11:14] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: If anyone is running in to what they consider showstopper bugs in git master (aka, 0.9), make sure to get the issues reported in mantis. If a mantis report already exists mention it in the IRC channel, or the opensim-dev mailing list and ask to have the issue added to the list of bugs to be fixed for the 0.9 release.
[11:14] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: It would be better to mention the mantis via the mailing list as the message in the IRC channel can easily be overlooked.
[11:15] Robert Adams: yes... reminding us developers will tell us what is important... although there is a fine line between reminding and nagging :)
[11:15] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: :)
[11:15] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I have been blocked on the mailing list and nobody is able to unwind it
[11:15] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: so I can't use it
[11:16] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, Any idea why/how you got blocked?
[11:16] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: ask JustinCC
[11:16] Simulator Version v0.5 ruft: OpenSim 0.9.0.0 Dev 5c81e03: 2016-06-21 01:49:47 +0200 (Unix/Mono)
[11:16] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: he can't give any reasonable explanation
[11:17] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: actually he did at the same time he removed all references to opensim on OS X on the wiki
[11:18] Robert Adams: Gavin: if you send to the mailing list, what happens?
[11:19] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it never gets accepted by the list and is held in moderation
[11:19] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I just gave up
[11:19] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, I asked some questions about the mailing list. I'll see what I can find out about it.
[11:19] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: thanks
[11:20] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: yw
[11:20] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I'll also pass along 7819 as a possible addition to the 0.9 bug list in the wiki.
[11:22] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: 7785 is also a possible candidate to go on the list
[11:23] Robert Adams: 7819 is in my camp... I'll add it to the list
[11:23] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Robert, ok. I thought it is physics related.
[11:23] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, let me look up 7785...
[11:25] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: From a quick read of the initial report it sounds like that one is more likely to be a lower priority.
[11:26] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: correct landing point can be quite major depending on type of sim
[11:26] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org nods
[11:27] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: 7768 is also releated to collision, but I believe this works. It can possibly be closed
[11:27] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: That might be another one for Robert.
[11:28] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Ah. llCollisionSound is a scripting function.
[11:30] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: There might be something missing in collision detection to trigger the sound.
[11:31] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it triggers in the viewer when colliding
[11:31] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: unscripted that is
[11:31] Robert Adams: it has to do with reporting the speed of the collision... the sound is generated if the collision is 'hard'... BulletSim reports the numbers differently than *ODE
[11:32] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Robert, is that going to require changes in the viewer to fix?
[11:33] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it works as expected in the viewer (at least Kokua does), when say you walk into a wall
[11:33] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: both on Bullet and ubODE
[11:33] Robert Adams: no... it's a physics engine thing.... BulletSim reports the velocity as zero because it is after the collision :)
[11:35] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: If the default collision sound is played but not a custom one that is a different problem.
[11:37] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: Gavin, if that is what you are noticing that information can be added to 7768.
[11:38] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: sure can do that
[11:40] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: I would hope it isn't a case of the sound to play being stated by name and the sound file wasn't in the prim that was supposed to detect the collision.
[11:41] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: the test script in the mantis use a UUID for the sound
[11:43] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: ok. As long as the sound file still exists it should play the sound in a situation where the default would have been played.
[11:45] Andrew.Hellershanks @hg.osgrid.org: What else has been happening in the world of OpenSim this past week?
[11:46] Andrew Hellershanks listens to the sounds of crickets chirping.
[11:47] George Equus: 9th Birthday got a west region added
[11:47] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: nothing to report here. Been busy with getting up to speed with all the announcements at WWDC2016
[11:48] Andrew Hellershanks: ok
[11:48] Andrew Hellershanks: A certain grid is having their 13th birthday celebrations this week,.IIRC.
[11:49] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: the annual lag fest? :-)
[11:49] Andrew Hellershanks: yup. That's it. :)
[11:49] George Equus: Not going there...
[11:49] George Equus: molass
[11:50] Andrew Hellershanks: The one thing I noticed is they are doing meet and greets with the Lindens at this years events. I haven't seen them do that in the last few years.
[11:51] Andrew Hellershanks: If there isn't anything else OS related for this week I think we can call it a day and get out of here a few minutes earlier than usual.
[11:51] Robert Adams: k... off to hacking on OS :)
[11:51] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it is more fun to run ito them when they hop around OpenSim grids in disguise
[11:51] Andrew Hellershanks: ok. Thank you all for being here.
[11:52] George Equus: Thanks Andrew.
