[10:57] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: is this where the dev meeting will be? [10:57] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Yes Gavin [10:57] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: great [10:58] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: OSGrid have chatterbox enabled [10:59] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: meaning? [10:59] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: REcent, was not so last week.. no specific meaning just comment [10:59] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I meant what is chatterbox? [11:00] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: oh [11:00] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: A chat broadcast system [11:00] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: sorry for being a total noob [11:00] George Equus: "blabbering about random crap " eh?? lol [11:00] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: right [11:00] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: :) [11:01] George Equus: Never heard of it either b4 [11:02] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Normally a group chat thing, but I am not in the group chatting so I have no idea either [11:02] George Equus: Local chat and mic occasionally is fine with me [11:03] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: Any idea how / if group chat in OpenSim scales? [11:04] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Never measured [11:04] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: right [11:04] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it is one of the things that falls over constantly in SL [11:05] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: k, uses event ChatterBoxInvitation for each message [11:06] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: so that will be an additional braodcast to every viwer monitoring [11:07] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I briefly looked at the Telegram messaging / chat system yesterday and they have an API, but I believe group chats were limited to 200 participants [11:08] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Not often you see more than 100 on OSGrid so should not be a problem [11:08] Kayaker Magic: 200 participants at once? or 200 allowed in one group? [11:08] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: concurrent [11:08] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: But, what happens when that limit is exceeded, does it fail gracefully? [11:09] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: the avantage is that it is available on all kinds of devices plus web browser [11:09] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: so you could participate that way too [11:09] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: k [11:10] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I have 2 questions to raise today from people I meet on my tours, I was hoping Andrew would be here as one question is specific to him [11:10] Kayaker Magic: He often makes these meetings. [11:11] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I know a lot of people look to this log [11:11] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I usually read them [11:11] Simulator Version v0.5 ruft: OpenSim 0.9.0.0 Dev ab12a14: 2016-02-21 11:14:02 -0800 (Unix/Mono) [11:13] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: If nothing else we got Kokua 4.0.1 available today for all 3 platforms; Linux (32/64), OS X and Windows [11:13] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Is that with the replaced webkit? [11:14] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: yes [11:14] Kayaker Magic: There is a meeting here on Saturday, were you there? It was well attended. [11:14] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I was there [11:14] Kayaker Magic: Perhaps because it was on a weekend! [11:14] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Nice, moap and html seemed to be limited more when using a windows hosted viewer [11:14] George Equus: Missed it [11:14] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: it is difficult to have a meeting spanning many timezones weekdays [11:14] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: html5 [11:14] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: html5 [11:15] Kayaker Magic: I thought the Saturday meeting was going to be for helping people set up OpenSim, but it was mostly talk of development like this meting. Several viewer developers showed up. [11:15] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: loads of changes to the underlying code [11:16] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: and even more to come [11:18] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Well I will log a question here.. Reports that fsassets has undergone more development at OSGrid, when will this reach mainstream? [11:18] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Is the current fsassets in core unreliable? [11:19] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: What is the background for the unreliable question? (I think I have seen some postings to the extent in the OSGrid formum) [11:20] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Comments I believe seen on IRC [11:20] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: ok [11:21] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Some people are looking at implementing, and has raise concerns [11:21] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: I think I have a follow up question related to that: Why is there not a test grid with the complete out of the box installation including the asset server. How is this component properly tested on OSGrid when OSGrid use something different? [11:23] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Second question, also from an IRC exchange. [11:25] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Plugh (Andrew) has issues with exchanging chat between objects, at some point it was suggested that the issue was due to an add-on module. Plugh did not return to comfirm [11:25] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: If it was a module, which one... profile etc [11:32] Kayaker Magic: Well, my time is up. I recommend the Saturday meeting to you. same time and place. [11:33] Kayaker Magic: But I have to leave now. [11:33] Gavin.Hird @grid.xmir.org:8002: Going back too. Have a nice day /evening everyone [11:33] George Equus: Me too. cu sat maybe [11:36] Andrew Hellershanks: My apologies. My PDA beeped to tell me it was 5 minutes before the meeting. I was in the middle of setting up a template for a project and those 5 minutes went by and then some. [11:37] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Some people have just left [11:37] Andrew Hellershanks: Were there many other people here near the top of the hour? [11:37] Andrew Hellershanks: ok. [11:38] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Question for you Andrew [11:38] Andrew Hellershanks: I'm not used to sitting in the hot seat for the meetings. I'll have to remember that nebadon isn't around to help run the meetings. [11:38] Andrew Hellershanks: sure, Billy. [11:39] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: re IISay between objects, did you resolve the issue? [11:39] Andrew Hellershanks: Not yet. [11:39] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I have some questions from people while touring [11:39] Andrew Hellershanks: Its starting to look like its something odd relating to my scripts but it still doesn't make sense to me. [11:39] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: So it was not an add-on module? [11:39] Andrew Hellershanks: I ran a simple test and it worked. [11:39] Andrew Hellershanks: No, not module related. [11:40] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I am just repeating what someone else had commented on, [11:40] Andrew Hellershanks: What are the other questions you have from your travels? [11:41] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I asked ealier for the log, let me paste again [11:41] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Reports that fsassets has undergone more development at OSGrid, when will this reach mainstream? [11:18] Billy Bradshaw: Is the current fsassets in core unreliable? [11:41] Andrew Hellershanks: The log of past meetings are posted online. [11:43] Andrew Hellershanks: I wouldn't expect it to be unreliable or it wouldn't have been placed in core. There may have been some refinements to it that are used in osgrid but I'd have to make some enquiries. [11:44] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: The comments I received came from IRC I don't monitor opensim IRC [11:45] Andrew Hellershanks: These questions came from the opensim-users IRC channel? [11:45] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I would think -dev [11:46] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Well the question is logged, maybe someone will see and comment [11:47] Andrew Hellershanks: I'm being told there are some improvements and bug fixes for FSassets as used in osgrid. The plan is to apply the changes to the core code. I'm not sure when that will be done. [11:48] Andrew Hellershanks: FSassets is thought to be usable as it is now. [11:50] Andrew Hellershanks: Any other questions? [11:52] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Not at this time, I do have some queries but require further clarification, maybe next week [11:52] Andrew Hellershanks: ok, np [11:52] Andrew Hellershanks: Next week I'll have to pay more attention to my PDA when it reminds me the meeting is about to start. [11:54] Andrew Hellershanks: Since its just the three of us, with Sheera here to log the meeting we can call the meeting closed for this week. [11:54] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I will wait until the hour is done [11:55] Andrew Hellershanks: I can't read the coloured text on your shirt [11:56] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: me neither :) [11:56] Andrew Hellershanks: I think the first word is quiet, the next is out-going but I can't make out the last one. [11:56] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: I am sporting the wears of the Opensim creatives [11:57] Andrew Hellershanks: got it. Its 'insane'. [11:57] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: seems about right :) [11:57] Andrew Hellershanks: neat shirt [11:57] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Taana [11:58] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: mesh resizable or something, not good with content [11:58] Andrew Hellershanks: I don't have any mesh clothing. [11:59] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Can Sheera see name this week? [11:59] Andrew Hellershanks: I hope so. [12:00] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Well that is it.. same time same place [12:00] Billy.Bradshaw @hg.viewtwo.net:8600: Toodle pip
