[10:11] Richardus Raymaker: well i figure out now why i dont have any ./maptiles directory
[10:12] Sarah Kline: hi justin
[10:12] Justin Clark-Casey: hello folks
[10:12] Simulator Version v0.5 shouts: OpenSim 0.7.3 Dev 352002f: 2011-10-17 22:11:56 +0100 (Unix/Mono)
[10:12] Spike Miles: hiya Justin :)
[10:12] dan banner: howdy justin
[10:12] Mimetic Core: hi justin
[10:12] Richardus Raymaker: hello justin
[10:12] BlueWall Slade: Hi Justin
[10:12] Nebadon Izumi: hello Justin
[10:12] Richardus Raymaker: curious what happens if you removes the maptiles directory nebadon. maby it dont get recreated
[10:13] Richardus Raymaker: sorry thats linked regions
[10:13] Nebadon Izumi: not sure, the maptiles are all stored on Robust server
[10:13] Nebadon Izumi: they do not come from the simulator
[10:13] Nebadon Izumi: the simulator uploads the tiles when the sim starts
[10:14] Nebadon Izumi: you might want to go over your ini's completley
[10:14] Nebadon Izumi: make sure you are running exactly what is in the OpenSim example files
[10:14] Nebadon Izumi: Justincc since you have made those changes to smooth avatar movements out
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: it seems to have gotten alot worse here at Wright Plaza
[10:15] Richardus Raymaker: i need to check my local server/ that have newer ini's and yes i need to rewrite all ini's
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: its no longer smooth for me here anymore
[10:15] Justin Clark-Casey: flying?
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: it used to be a lot better
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:15] Sarah Kline: I fell down the stairs this morning )
[10:15] Justin Clark-Casey: sorry to hear that, Sarah
[10:15] dan banner: dang sarah
[10:15] Sarah Kline: lol
[10:15] dan banner: you okay?
[10:15] Richardus Raymaker: it works smoother for me. neb do you use the ode modification or the ini ?
[10:15] Sarah Kline: here doh
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: lol
[10:15] Nebadon Izumi: that reminds me of a funny story
[10:16] Justin Clark-Casey: I'll have to t ry flying around a bit sometime
[10:16] Nebadon Izumi: like 15 years ago I had a 2 story Condo in New Jersey
[10:16] Andrew Hellershanks: justins movement looks a little jerkey to me
[10:16] Justin Clark-Casey: mine feels pretty smooth
[10:16] dan banner: same here
[10:16] Nebadon Izumi: my friend came over and knocked on my door, i was upstairs, we had a glass front door
[10:16] dan banner: moonwalking
[10:16] Nebadon Izumi: i was about 1/4 way down the stairs when i slipped and totally fell down the stairs and landed on my face at bottom
[10:17] Richardus Raymaker: i saw that once yerky on my region. but that where when i cam from new version into old to new
[10:17] Nebadon Izumi: but the door was locked and my friend was standing there watching the whole thing
[10:17] Andrew Hellershanks: Justins position jumped just then from being just left of the right speaker to the end of the couch near Blue Wall
[10:17] Nebadon Izumi: thought i was joking
[10:17] Nebadon Izumi: lol
[10:17] Sarah Kline: ow
[10:17] Nebadon Izumi: luckily i didnt really get hurt
[10:17] Mimetic Core: lol
[10:17] Nebadon Izumi: it was kind of funny in the end
[10:17] Justin Clark-Casey: that would be more to do with you not receiving the packet
[10:17] Mimetic Core: glass doors are scary
[10:17] Sarah Kline: lol good )
[10:17] Justin Clark-Casey: agent time does seem to spike a bit here
[10:17] Dahlia Trimble: hi :)
[10:17] Justin Clark-Casey: hi dahlia
[10:17] BlueWall Slade: Hello Dahlia
[10:18] Andrew Hellershanks: nebadon, Ouch
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: hmm it feels a bit better now flying
[10:18] Spike Miles: hiya Dahlia :)
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: i have a feeling
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: that until the entire sim is downloaded
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: all textures and prims
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: flying is just terrible
[10:18] Justin Clark-Casey: yeah, that might be the case
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: its still a bit choppy feeling to me now tough
[10:18] Richardus Raymaker: downside from 3.03 it crash more
[10:18] Justin Clark-Casey: you might want to experiment with turning the adaptive thorttles off and see what difference it makes
[10:18] Nebadon Izumi: but better than it was earlier
[10:19] Justin Clark-Casey: it backs off sending rates until it doesn't have to resend packets any more
[10:19] Justin Clark-Casey: then it increases them when packets are being ack'd
[10:19] Nebadon Izumi: does that increase cpu at all?
[10:19] Justin Clark-Casey: no
[10:19] Richardus Raymaker: the ode setting is much betetr. use it on 4 regions. its more like old days. with viewer3 its a bit betetr for my feeling
[10:20] Justin Clark-Casey: I'm surprised that textures would be restricted though, since that shouldn't cover stuff sent over http
[10:20] Dahlia Trimble: prioritizing packets for the user's agent so they go out in front might help
[10:20] Justin Clark-Casey: tcp rather
[10:20] Nebadon Izumi: ya hard to say
[10:20] Richardus Raymaker: well, i grab opensim.ini's neb and modifiy that. see if that works
[10:20] Nebadon Izumi: this region has so much content
[10:20] Nebadon Izumi: its hard to tell whats causing it
[10:20] Nebadon Izumi: I also decided to go back to AppDomainLoading = False here
[10:20] Nebadon Izumi: it appears that was part of the memory leaking problem
[10:21] Richardus Raymaker: i still have it false. or your memory go sky
[10:21] Justin Clark-Casey: hmm
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: and honestly it does not run any better when its on true
[10:21] dan banner: oh was true still using too much memory?
[10:21] dan banner: ahh
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:21] Justin Clark-Casey: what is the default for that?
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: the default is false on the osgrid release
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: but i beleive it might be true for OpenSim
[10:21] Justin Clark-Casey: k
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: id have to double check that
[10:21] dan banner: thats right
[10:21] Justin Clark-Casey: I can check. Just curious
[10:21] Justin Clark-Casey: ok
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: cool
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: the thing is
[10:21] Richardus Raymaker: i see 3 clouds. more see that ?
[10:21] Nebadon Izumi: in Windows server
[10:22] Nebadon Izumi: if you set it to false
[10:22] Nebadon Izumi: most scripts just dont work
[10:22] Justin Clark-Casey: huh
[10:22] dan banner: would be nice if that was autodetected
[10:22] Nebadon Izumi: but in linux you get much better results with false
[10:22] Richardus Raymaker: i hear more script problems in windows. like neb says set it to true fix it
[10:22] Nebadon Izumi: one of those wierd cross platform oddities
[10:22] dan banner: AppDomainLoading = true/false/auto
[10:22] Spike Miles: I see 3 clouds also
[10:22] Richardus Raymaker: auto ? that sounds useless. unless it detects linux/windows
[10:23] Dahlia Trimble: am I a cloud?
[10:23] dan banner: thats what i just said rich
[10:23] Justin Clark-Casey: no
[10:23] Justin Clark-Casey: I see three clouds. The usual suspects
[10:23] Richardus Raymaker: am on sl3 so that one have so its own life. :) ok. dan. the chat is different with reading. lol
[10:23] Justin Clark-Casey: lot of grey people though - I recently cleaned the viewer cache
[10:23] Richardus Raymaker: need to remove transparency of chat window
[10:23] Dahlia Trimble: I see several boxes and a few skeletons
[10:24] Spike Miles: but its not halloween yet XD
[10:24] Dahlia Trimble: its close to halloween, it must be dead people and caskets
[10:24] Spike Miles: lol
[10:25] Nebadon Izumi: hehe
[10:25] Dutchy Daredevil: am i ok to ??
[10:25] Nebadon Izumi: your a cloud to me Dutchy
[10:25] Spike Miles: I see you as a cloud Dutchy
[10:25] Dutchy Daredevil: awww
[10:25] dan banner: i see dutchy
[10:25] Nebadon Izumi: Andrew and Master too
[10:26] dan banner: oh attachments
[10:26] dan banner: i need to change that
[10:26] Dutchy Daredevil: re loading now
[10:26] Dutchy Daredevil: i hope ?
[10:26] dan banner: okay now you're a cloud
[10:26] Charlotte Lagan: I hope so too
[10:27] dan banner: 3 clouds
[10:27] Sarah Kline: one thing i have been getting is went sent a tp..region does not exist anymore' but I can map tp and LM tp ok
[10:27] Richardus Raymaker: hmm, the removed important debug settings
[10:27] Sarah Kline: past week or so
[10:27] dan banner: sarah thats older regions i suspect
[10:27] Nebadon Izumi: thats an old problem
[10:27] Sarah Kline: get sent*
[10:27] Sarah Kline: oh ok good
[10:27] Sarah Kline: as long as not new
[10:28] dan banner: or regions with hg turned off
[10:28] dan banner: something like that
[10:28] Nebadon Izumi: ya teleporting is still a gamble
[10:28] Nebadon Izumi: hehe
[10:28] Sarah Kline: kk few doing that
[10:28] Richardus Raymaker: i dont see any use of HG on all regions. 1 is enough
[10:28] dan banner: just paste slurl in chat instead of sending lures
[10:29] Justin Clark-Casey: there seems to be a regular physics spike as well
[10:29] Richardus Raymaker: slurls are super. betetr then LM
[10:29] Justin Clark-Casey: I'm wondering if it's related to terrain setting, since that takes an OdeLock
[10:30] Richardus Raymaker: nebadon. auto play is tunred off. but it seems it ignores opensim..
[10:30] Richardus Raymaker: and still start to play
[10:30] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:31] Nebadon Izumi: it happens in SL too
[10:31] Nebadon Izumi: if you use this method
[10:31] Justin Clark-Casey: master duborna has now appeared for me
[10:31] Nebadon Izumi: ya same here
[10:31] Spike Miles: same here also :)
[10:31] Justin Clark-Casey: as you say neb, this region is also highly loaded because of all the objects and scripts
[10:31] Nebadon Izumi: heh ya
[10:31] Nebadon Izumi: its like 22000 prims and 2000 scripts
[10:32] Justin Clark-Casey: 25844 and 2050 :)
[10:32] Justin Clark-Casey: 26844 rather
[10:32] Nebadon Izumi: really
[10:32] Nebadon Izumi: that must be all the avatars
[10:32] Justin Clark-Casey: of course, assuming that the active scripts is corret. As you say, it tends to fall over time
[10:32] Nebadon Izumi: its not that high on a fresh start
[10:32] Richardus Raymaker: avatar prims you see back in that counter to
[10:32] Justin Clark-Casey: I'm guessing we don't properly account for avatars with scripted attachments entering and leaving
[10:32] Nebadon Izumi: ya may be
[10:33] Nebadon Izumi: and the sim prim count is not 26k on a fresh start
[10:33] Nebadon Izumi: it must be counting attachments
[10:33] Justin Clark-Casey: ah
[10:33] Justin Clark-Casey: mm
[10:33] Nebadon Izumi: its like 22-23k range
[10:33] Richardus Raymaker: still lots !
[10:34] Charlotte Lagan: well, take off hair, shoes and be simple, not vaine :))
[10:34] dan banner: so the ossl sit/stand for npc was nice to have
[10:34] Andrew Hellershanks: Thanks for the note about AppDomainLoading. Default is true and I do see a minor memory leak. I'll uncomment it and set to false and see what happens.
[10:34] Nebadon Izumi: i have not tried it yet the NPC stuff
[10:34] Nebadon Izumi: cool Andrew
[10:34] Justin Clark-Casey: dan: yes. I still need to work out why sitting on a prim that doesn't hav ea sit position set doesn't set the sitting avatar in the code
[10:34] Nebadon Izumi: your using Linux?
[10:34] Andrew Hellershanks: Two avatars that were clouds have now fixed themselves.
[10:34] Justin Clark-Casey: that's also true for sits down through the viewer
[10:34] Nebadon Izumi: ya i see Dutchy now too
[10:35] Justin Clark-Casey: andrew: yeah, you're the only one I see as a cloud :)
[10:35] dan banner: from what ive been playing with it seems to be working really well
[10:35] Nebadon Izumi: ya me too just Andrew
[10:35] Justin Clark-Casey: andrew: in fact, I dond't think I've ever seen your real avatar
[10:35] Nebadon Izumi: nice Dan
[10:35] Justin Clark-Casey: dan: you're using it with sit positions?
[10:35] Sarah Kline: just leaves Andrew
[10:35] Andrew Hellershanks: odd.
[10:35] Andrew Hellershanks: I see everyone (include me) ok
[10:35] Nebadon Izumi: ya you do generally see yourself
[10:35] dan banner: not yet justin i was planning on trying that later today
[10:35] Sarah Kline: mayb simple rebake )
[10:35] Andrew Hellershanks: Just did that.
[10:35] Justin Clark-Casey: dan: really, it works without sit positions??
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: maybe if you sit on scripted prim?
[10:36] Richardus Raymaker: nebadon is your sl3 remind the windows postions like minimap ? mine seems to lose it everytime so it end all up on wrong place. but sl3 dont exit nice to. it crash many times
[10:36] Dutchy Daredevil: i reloaded all by hand in the clothes map/folder
[10:36] dan banner: i have an npc walking loops around the region, running anims, etc
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: it will position you automatically?
[10:36] Justin Clark-Casey: dan: ah yeah, I'm talking about sitting
[10:36] Justin Clark-Casey: nebadon: it will use the sit position set
[10:36] Richardus Raymaker: work on a new sofa btw ?
[10:36] Sarah Kline: yes its really funny
[10:36] Justin Clark-Casey: nebadon: at the moment - I don't think it would work for prims without a script that has set the sit pos
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: ya Richardus
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: i have a new couch for here
[10:36] dan banner: yes trying the sit/stand is in my plans for later today
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: that looks proper in V3
[10:36] Nebadon Izumi: i forgot to rez it
[10:37] Nebadon Izumi: i'll do that later
[10:37] Sarah Kline: )
[10:37] Richardus Raymaker: yes. only pillows and sit position is wrong
[10:37] dan banner: nice to see more npc stuff
[10:37] Justin Clark-Casey: also, I might do an option for osNpcSit that automatically walks the avatar to the prim
[10:37] Justin Clark-Casey: but as you know, that doesn't even work properly for viewers atm
[10:37] Justin Clark-Casey: so might have to wait
[10:37] dan banner: that would be great
[10:37] Nebadon Izumi: ya sit is a bit funky even for regular avatars
[10:37] dan banner: like movetarget to within 1 or 2 meters and sit
[10:37] Nebadon Izumi: the mouselook especially
[10:38] Nebadon Izumi: it onyl works if you sit on the root prim
[10:38] Justin Clark-Casey: dan: yeah, the problem at the moment is there's no notification of reaching a target
[10:38] Justin Clark-Casey: one can work around that but it's a bit awkward
[10:38] dan banner: yes with getpos
[10:38] Justin Clark-Casey: with an attachment on the npc itself, i think
[10:38] Justin Clark-Casey: or yes, a getpos loop, timer, etc.
[10:38] dan banner: no attachment needed
[10:38] Justin Clark-Casey: do you ahve to keep doing getpos() in a loop?
[10:39] dan banner: but yes llsleep and getpos
[10:39] Richardus Raymaker: why not detection of prim and then check name. i think thats possible
[10:39] Justin Clark-Casey: ok
[10:39] dan banner: yes
[10:39] Justin Clark-Casey: I think a target system would be good too, but I just didn't get the time
[10:39] Richardus Raymaker: time... :O
[10:39] Justin Clark-Casey: had to do a whole bunch of work to clean up the code
[10:39] dan banner: some os fnction that directly took waypoints would be awesome
[10:39] Justin Clark-Casey: yes
[10:40] dan banner: instead of the while loops
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: memory is only 587mb on show stats here
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: thats pretty good
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: so ya AppDomainLoading = false it is
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: lol
[10:40] Andrew Hellershanks: Am I still a cloud?
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: its terrible on true
[10:40] Justin Clark-Casey: andrew: yes
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: ya you are here Andrew
[10:40] Nebadon Izumi: what viewer are you using?
[10:40] Richardus Raymaker: andrew yes
[10:41] Andrew Hellershanks: Nebadon, should probably change the default in the code or in the .ini file
[10:41] Andrew Hellershanks: Imprudence 1.4.0 beta 2
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: well in the OSgrid release its false by default
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: with notes to change to true in Windows
[10:41] Andrew Hellershanks: k
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: the problem Andrew
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: is in Windows if its false
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: many scripts do not work
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: so true is a better default
[10:41] Andrew HellershanksAndrew Hellershanks doesn't run it in Windows
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: cause it works fine in linux and windows
[10:41] Andrew HellershanksAndrew Hellershanks grins
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: its just a bit more memory in linux is all
[10:41] Nebadon Izumi: and perhaps a tad leaky
[10:42] Richardus Raymaker: imprudence is a bit off for me, until inworld sounds are fixt.
[10:42] dan banner: if opensim had a setting to dectect mono or .net and set appdomainloading accordingly would be the best way
[10:42] Richardus Raymaker: or im then just the sl3 :O
[10:42] Andrew Hellershanks: The amount of leak would be related to number of scripts in a region?
[10:42] dan banner: AppDomainLoading = true/false/auto
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: im not sure if we can differentiate between mono and .net
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: we can windows and linux
[10:42] BlueWall Slade: it needs to be set by the operator...
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: but what if someone is running mono in windows
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: not saying thats a good idea
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: but someone might
[10:42] dan banner: would be the same thing neb
[10:42] Nebadon Izumi: hehe
[10:42] dan banner: mono like false
[10:43] BlueWall Slade: if it is true, then scripts are partitioned into their own app domain
[10:43] BlueWall Slade: if it is false, then they all share one
[10:43] Spike Miles: now I see you Andrew :)
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: ya im just not sure there is any easy way to differentiate between mono and .net programatically
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: might be
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: im not sure honestly
[10:43] dan banner: ya true on .net is almost a requirement
[10:43] Justin Clark-Casey: omg, Andrew appearead!
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: actually i guess we can
[10:43] BlueWall Slade: if they share, then a single script can crash them all
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: cause show version
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: shows .net vs mono
[10:43] Richardus Raymaker: tes
[10:43] Richardus Raymaker: yes
[10:43] Justin Clark-Casey: are you neb's brother?
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: unless thats just assuming
[10:43] dan banner: yup version shows which platform
[10:43] Nebadon Izumi: lol
[10:44] Nebadon Izumi: brother from a different mother
[10:44] Spike Miles: XD
[10:44] Justin Clark-Casey: ha
[10:44] Andrew Hellershanks: Spike: woohoo... Nice to be seen (at last)
[10:44] Andrew Hellershanks: Justin, I think we may have the same tailor
[10:44] Justin Clark-Casey: anybody tried mumble recently?
[10:44] dan banner: maybe justin knows if thats assumed or actually detected?
[10:44] Nebadon Izumi: ive never tried mumble myself
[10:44] Richardus Raymaker: gin, just staying with one feed in sl3
[10:44] Richardus Raymaker: never done mumble at all
[10:44] Spike Miles: yay no more clouds :D
[10:45] dan banner: i dont like the idea of changing the viewer to use mumble
[10:45] Justin Clark-Casey: must be detected somewhere
[10:45] Justin Clark-Casey: changing settings based on autodetect is getting pretty tricksy
[10:45] Nebadon Izumi: there was talk of having the viewer be able to detect between vivox and mumble
[10:45] Nebadon Izumi: in an automatic fashion
[10:46] Justin Clark-Casey: yes, opensim would need to send that infromation
[10:46] dan banner: justin: thats why i suggested the true/false/.auto so it could be forced still
[10:46] Nebadon Izumi: not one of those priorities though
[10:46] Justin Clark-Casey: as to which voice module was available
[10:46] Nebadon Izumi: considering TPV's need to move on V3
[10:46] Nebadon Izumi: and mesh
[10:46] Nebadon Izumi: kind of a side note to that stuff
[10:46] Justin Clark-Casey: volker says they got mumble working with v2 (and hence I presume v3)
[10:46] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: i just meant the ability to have vivox and mumble side by side
[10:47] Richardus Raymaker: V3 still get installed in V2 directoryname :P
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: and have the simulator and viewer work together to determine which one to use
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: yes, that's probably very difficult
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: snoopy was talking about it
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: I'm not sure if the voice exec is invoked even before logging on to any grid
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: so you would have to start both of them
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: and now that viewer and sim devs can work together
[10:47] BlueWall Slade: I would like to see that codec in mumble talking to freeswitch :)
[10:47] Nebadon Izumi: it should be easier than it was previously
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: yes
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: bluewall: pfff :)
[10:47] Richardus Raymaker: verhicles are more fun then voice :O
[10:47] Justin Clark-Casey: for me, voice would be far more fun :)
[10:48] Nebadon Izumi: isnt mumble back end more efficient than freeswitch?
[10:48] Justin Clark-Casey: I think it's more suited
[10:48] BlueWall Slade: that would open up a world of possibilities
[10:48] Justin Clark-Casey: afaik freeswitch is a general voice solution
[10:48] Richardus Raymaker: i hear mumble is betetr and completer
[10:48] Justin Clark-Casey: I wouldn't say that
[10:48] Justin Clark-Casey: thye just do different things
[10:48] Nebadon Izumi: ya
[10:48] Justin Clark-Casey: the reason why voice quality for opensim is so bad with freeswitch is because the vivox client falls back to a crappy codec
[10:48] Nebadon Izumi: Freeswitch is probably way more advanced as a PBX
[10:49] BlueWall Slade: I think it would work
[10:49] Andrew Hellershanks: Mumble is supposed to be easier(?) to set up compared to FreeSwitch from what I've heard.
[10:49] Justin Clark-Casey: andrew: yeah, I found it a lot easier
[10:49] BlueWall Slade: it is smaller
[10:49] Richardus Raymaker: freeswitch is based on astrix sofar i know
[10:49] Nebadon Izumi: in terms of the SL viewer though
[10:49] Justin Clark-Casey: you just drop the module in, add some config and then rename mumble to SLVoice on the client side
[10:49] Nebadon Izumi: i would think mumble be more efficient choice
[10:49] BlueWall Slade: freeswitch will do anything
[10:49] Justin Clark-Casey: you don't jhave to go through really extensive freeeswitch config
[10:49] BlueWall Slade: we would just need a client to tie the sim to it
