I am one of the people working on SETP/CICPv2. It is an open source protocol specification effort for distributed virtual environments. The vision is to learn from the existing research and implementations to create a protocol specification which enables fulfillment of virtual environment business potential. I would like to propose that SETP/CICPv2 would be evaluated as possible future client-server and sim interoperatin protocol. Feedback from working virtual environment implementation would be valuable for the specification effort and would steer the work to correct direction.
