OpenSim is based on [[UTC]] (Coordinated Universal Time) and not SLT (Second Life Time) which is based on PST (Pacific Standard Time). Due to the very nature of OpenSim being a metaverse, UTC was a natural choice due to its use throughout the Earth as the standard starting point for all timezones. Going forward it will be much easier to plan events and use standard toolsets in OpenSim and any metaverses based on it.

OpenSim Standard Time

OpenSim is based on UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) and not SLT (Second Life Time) which is based on PST (Pacific Standard Time). Due to the very nature of OpenSim being a metaverse, UTC was a natural choice due to its use throughout the Earth as the standard starting point for all timezones. Going forward it will be much easier to plan events and use standard toolsets in OpenSim and any metaverses based on it.
