The idea of creating a martial arts educational world first came to the creators of Taekwondoverse in 2008, inspired by the appearance of the now well-known and loved OSGrid, as well as other new alternative 3D worlds. The general outline of how this educational martial arts world could be designed, however, did not take shape completely until late 2014, when the translation virtual world Traduverse provided a martial arts area for a group of martial arts translators who, themselves having achieved black belts in various martial arts, but predominantly TaeKwonDo, Hapkido, Judo, Kendo, Kung Fu and TaiJiQuan (TaiChi), started to create martial arts related content of various types, both for Traduverse's sports translation sim and for what would later become the TaeKwonDo educational world Taekwondoverse. By the 14th of October 2016, when Taekwondoverse first went online, most of its basic content was complete, mainly donated by the translation virtual world Traduverse, but also containing a lot of beautiful items created by several other well-known and very talented 3D artists from the Opensimulator community, who have so generously contributed to all starting Opensimulator worlds. Having originally been promoted for several months as one of the sports and martial arts sims belonging to the educational virtual universe EduverseGrid (which itself was also conceived by a team of technical, educational and gaming translators from Traduverse grid) with the purpose of providing courses of a theoretical nature as curricular support for real martial arts dojos, dojangs and kwoons, Taekwondoverse was finally launched on 14/10/2016 as a 'satellite' world of EduverseGrid, having full access to a considerable amount of additional educational content and services made available by the creators of EduverseGrid. Although intended as an educational world, Taekwondoverse also contains a myriad of fun activities and games where its users can learn while they are playing...and fighting! All combat games and activities provided on Taekwondoverse are however intended to teach and promote the values and philosophy of martial arts and sports, not violence. All role playing games provided are also PG rated and intended to promote these values and philosophies. The content includes educational animations, HUDs and videos, as well as various 3D creations and educational tools. While no longer an entirely 'closed' world, in order to preserve this focus access to Taekwondoverse is currently by invitation only.

ENGLISH: The idea of creating a martial arts educational world first came to the creators of Taekwondoverse in 2008, inspired by the appearance of the now well-known and loved OSGrid, as well as other new alternative 3D worlds. The general outline of how this educational martial arts world could be designed, however, did not take shape completely until late 2014, when the translation virtual world Traduverse provided a martial arts area for a group of martial arts translators who, themselves having achieved black belts (or equivalent) in various martial arts, but predominantly TaeKwonDo, Hapkido, Judo, Kendo, Kung Fu and TaiJiQuan (TaiChi), started to create martial arts related content of various types, both for Traduverse's sports translation sim and for what would later become the TaeKwonDo educational world Taekwondoverse.
