I agree, I'm also hesitant to suggest a proliferation of lists as that can
tend to dilute the diversity of perspectives and experiences that can turn a
good list into a great one. Besides which, having worked in this space for
a long time, I'm already a member of umpteen million general virtual worlds
groups, but those are less useful to someone specifically working on an
opensim implementation.

I think there can be a balance, though, even on a user list such as this
one, between keeping focused to the opensim topic and not freaking out like
it's the end of the virtual world if someone posts a message that isn't
immediately applicable. My original concern was the attitude with which off
topic posts were being handled and a general argument to the list members to
try to be a little more open and flexible as the opensim community grows.
I'm always in the "be gentler and kinder to sincere newbies" camp than in
the school of hard knocks camp.

With warm wishes for a Merry "Can't We All Just Get Along!" Christmas.. :)
