I doubt this will ever happen. A number of the core developers (myself included) are very much Linux people (Sean is a
developer in the IBM Linux Technology Centre, for instance :). Everybody is happy to limit the SDK APIs used in OpenSim
to those which are available both on Microsoft's system and under Mono - it hasn't proved a problem so far.

Mono isn't perfect but I think that it's improving impressively fast - it grows up just as we grow up (well, maybe quite
a bit ahead).

It's true that some surrounding projects are currently implemented only on Windows. But I don't see this as a long term
problem. Hopefully it will act either as a spur for people to develop the necessary infrastructure on the Linux side,
or will inspire technologies that do encompass Linux (hence gaining the interested developers committed to the platform)
to win through.

The people who should be complaining are the Mac OS X folks - I think they probably generally have the most problems
running OpenSim ;)
