hmm.. this makes me think about the whole issue of client-side editing. 
While the rest of the world moves towards thin clients and server-side
logic, the SL world depends on all the editing happening on the client. 
It's a bit of a paradox -- the editing, which is presumably less
realtime-critical than some things, happens on the client; but collision and
script behavior, which  depend on low latency for decent results, happen on
the server.  

What's up with that?
