IANAL, but just with simple plain logic I don't see any possible
problems with this.

I think that's a good idea. There is a wealth of good GPL code out
there, and often that license is not a problem, and sometimes exactly
what is wanted. (I am not saying that always, and know and ack the
reasons for BSD, but still)
