I can confirm reliably seeing an incorrect "Ruthed" shape with NPC's on multiple machines, viewers, networks and different NPC's at the same time, and can report a intermittent clue/fix.

By right clicking the NPC, sometimes they pop into the correct shape.   I added details to the Mantis, and photo of NPC before/after :
