[Opensim-users] Touch to open by other users not working?

Sure, I completely understand that, I work with students too so I
definitely understand where you're coming from. My last email was just
trying to clarify if there is some confusion between the "open" and "buy
contents" options, because they work differently based on who owns the prim
and who has edit permissions on the prim.

I _think_ for the use case you've described, where you will own the prim,
and you want students to be able to simply left click on it to get the
uniform items, then what you want is the "buy contents" option, not the
"open" option. Even though of course they won't actually be buying
anything since you'll set the price to zero.

Here's what you have to do to make that work:

- In your opensim.ini file, go to the [Economy] section and make sure
enable buying and selling for $0 is set to true (I think this is the
default, but might want to double check).

- Place the uniform items inside your prim, make sure all items are at
least copyable.

- Edit your container prim, in the General tab check the box to set the
item for sale, set the price to $0.

- Click the radio button under the sale price for "Contents" to sell the
contents of the prim and not the prim itself.

- In the lower left corner of the edit window, use the pull down menu to
set When left-clicked: Buy Object

Then when your student left clicks on the prim, it will open a window to
automatically buy the contents of your prim. I'm not sure the check box to
"Wear clothing now" actually works in Opensim, but that's where it will
show up for your users if it does work. If not, the students will need to
wear the items from their inventory.

Give that a try and see if it behaves the way you were hoping. =)
