Apparently I need a .BVH file that has been edited. I read an article on
the net that said you can deform the joint locations in the BVH, then I can
easily upload it through the browser.

I have a few of these on Secondlife already, but there is no way for me to
save them locally or even edit their contents, even though they were free
and have full permissions.

So I have been looking to no avail for an edited (deformed) tiny BVH file...

I tried the do-it-yourself approach using some free software, but I don't
have a month to figure out what I'm doing LOL

I believe that the way 'tiny' avatars are created for the SL/OpenSim viewers
is to set all sliders on the appearance to lowest (smallest/skiniest etc)
then apply an animation that folds the limbs up into the smallest space -
the resulting thing looks like an alien. Then you wear a prim (or maybe now
mesh) set of attachments that give you the look you want.
