I suspect the reason is simply the difficulty of co-ordinating such a move. And tbh, it's not a great reason to move -
a far better approach would be to fix the viewer but I hear that the limitation is difficult to address.

I see you're using 0.7.1. In current dev master code, I put in a check to tell you why a teleport fails if it exceeds
the 4096 limit. This change will be in the forthcoming 0.7.2 so at least you'll get a bit more feedback.

This confuses me as well. I've been using addresses of the form

secondlife://justincc.osgrid.org:20000:r1/128/128/128

but I'm aware that this isn't the only way to do it, and I'm not sure this address form even works in viewer 2/3.

I'd love to dig into the code and map all this stuff out on the wiki but unfortunately I simply don't have time at the
moment. And Diva is also tremendously busy herself right now, being a full time academic chairing big conferences as
well as an open-source hacker!

But if anybody does work out what can and can't be done then updates to the wiki page are very welcome. As you see,
there's no good authoritative source other than the code itself at the moment.
