[Opensim-users] Using ODE and Mono for Ubuntu Linux

Hello Paul

Yes "uname -a" shows you if it is a 32 or 64 bit system. "i686" means 32 bits and "x86_64" 64 bits.

I also use my router for NAT and port forwarding. All that is very device specific. On my server I have a local firewall and I have opened all ports that I need for opensim, as described on the opensim web site.

For ODE I use the default settings on the 32 bit server. On the 64 bit server a little ODE adjustment is needed to avoid bend legs / feet in the ground. You can read all about the 64 bit setup here: https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/opensim-users/2008-December/000841.html

  Snoopy

Snoopy:
I am using a 32 bit system, but not absolutely sure.. is "uname -a"
the way
to find out?
Is there anything special you did along these lines:
   * port forwarding, NAT, inside of the linux box itself (I have this done
by the router, and all seems to work) ?
   * ODE settings other than having libode.so in your bin/ and setting
the physics engine in opensim.ini to use OpenDynamicsEngine ?
-p
