[Opensim-dev] search

What exactly is needed? Do you have contact with the current developer of
the site? O r have they left the scene and they should of released the code
somewhere :)

I can see open grids and standalones  would love this especially if it also
allows you to see scheduled events also.

I know I seen/heard of other implementations of it but they all seam to
fall aside unless you have a big backer on a long term grid or two where
you can have an project going on with more then 1 person who can keep the
project rolling.

Some the private grid might like to use it to some extent too.   But is it
time for us to do this? How well has the online website trying to unit the
economics working (online stores and such)

You will need someone who in it for the long run who can manage it and
acquire hosting for it.  If you have to pay for it, where are the moneys
coming from to provide support for it?  You can get people to donate we
space for it, will the balk if it grows to to huge sizes?  THere little
more then to do then lets do it :)

But I would have to say, the project should be not be dependent on one
person to survive.

Just a thought :)
