shiver with mission-critical words :) will address as closest to;
These days you will have fewest problems with a quality .Net windows server running a D2 version.
First chose a host more than the OS, IMO
Cari.net fits that role and is familiar with OpenSim. There are others.

Hi folks, I'm looking for some input on what you think is a better OS to run mission-critical OpenSim instances on: Windows or Linux. I currently run on Windows, but I'm starting to run mission-critical instances, and if Linux is better than I want to move to that. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Levi
