[Opensim-dev] Using Grider to teleport SL <-> OpenSim

I confess I haven't thought of that, and that hasn't been the
motivation. But now that you mention it, it looks like in principle this
could be done, to some extent. The "to some extent" has to do with the
very important security pieces of the protocol, which would need
cooperation from the SL servers to be fully implemented.

When the SL client moves all of its inventory access to CAPs, we'll be
one step closer to being able to do this safely. But that's not enough.
We need verifiable identity, and CAPs-based asset transfers, which are
easy to do in OpenSim, but can only be done for SL by LL staff.

Yes... that's one avenue that I hadn't thought and that definitely needs
exploring [by people interested in SL <-> OpenSim interop, which hasn't
been much on my mind because LL has all sorts of non-technical, business
constraints that make the problem much harder in practice].
