[Opensim-dev] Question: Collaborative tools in Opensim

I suspected that "collaboration" will require client modifications too.
The VNC blackboard is a good idea, but seems a patch waiting for a better
client API (capturing events on the surface of a prim and the whole). What I
am looking for is a full application integration (i.e. executing openoffice
and documents being modified for the opensim avatars) but I understand that
everything needs time (and knowledge I haven't actually).
Thank you for the guidelines, guys.
