Thanks for the vote of confidence, Charles :)
There are conditions where Meshmerizer will fail, such as in some 64 bit
installation with older versions of Mono. I'm not aware of any failures when
mono 2.0.1 or later are used. I'm also not aware of any configurations where
Zeromesher fails. Considering Meshmerizer is somewhat tightly integrated
with ODE and is not yet supported with the other physics engines, and also
that ODE may not work in all possible installations where .NET or mono are
available, it probably makes sense to keep the configuration defaults were
they are, or if there are changed, to make sure the OpenSim.ini.example file
is clearly documented so those who may encounter difficulties can easily
make the switch.
In it's current form Meshmerizer isn't really creating any geometry but
rather handing if off to PrimMesher for the generation of meshes, and then
adapting those meshes for use by ODE. One path I can see for the future is
to have Meshmerizer act as an arbiter between OpenSim and other mesh
geometry producers that are not prims or sculpties, such as those which may
be described in formats like .obj or VRML. In this case Meshmerizer may
eventually require it's own configuration section in OpenSim.ini.
