Okay, I made the mistake of not reading sdague's e-mail carefully enough and just putting "fixes mantis #1234" in the 
commit log entry.  Of course, this is cool in updating the mantis but it would also be very good to continue separately 
crediting the contributor in the svn log since this is the only practical way to see who is contributing patches.

Of course, probably everybody else is aware of this and it's just my dumb self who only put the string "fixes mantis 
#1234 without any accompanying text).
