Would you mind terribly putting your locale clues that you have been working through on the FAQ on the wiki for the next person (or three) that stumbles over this one, please?

That's again this locale problem :S

I solved it by adding the two folowing lines to my .bash_profile :

export LC_ALL=C
export LANG=C

I'm now able to run scripts again.
