[Opensim-dev] Proposal for using OpenID in OpenSim

Regarding concerns over enforcing OpenID login only, since the OpenID
server can exist entirely separately from OpenSim (with the exception
of an SQL query or two), the OpenID implementation I described would
allow users that already have passwords to login with OpenID instead of
their username & password (after having used OpenID to associate both
identities ) as well as OpenID-only users.

OpenID-only users could get a password at a later date, but even that
isn't an enforced requirement.

To nip any concerns over using OpenID Attribute Exchange to link to an
inventory manifest file, discussion has already taken place on the
OpenID mailing list regarding controlling who has access to documents
linked via OpenID AE.
