OpenSimForge is here - this idea was cooked up by a few of the regular committers, and we've setup a separate dedicated server for it.

URL: http://forge.opensimulator.org

There's a number of opensim-related projects out there at the moment, such as the ASP.NET gridservers we developed, the Perl ones 3Di did, etc. With this, you can register a project for each of those and get some space for the hosting of it (includes mailing lists, forums, trackers, svn/cvs, etc)

What it's for:

- Alternate Gridserver Implementations

- OpenSim Region Modules

- OpenSim Plugins

- OpenSim-derived Applications

- Unofficial OpenSim branches (ie interop patches, etc)

What requirements exist for committing here?

- Must be OSS under a OSI-approved license, or public domain. BSD-licensed is preferred but not required.

- Must have some code already (ie, don't apply for a project space until you have at least a few lines of code, even in an alpha state)

How do I apply for space?

- Register an account and activate it

- In your control panel ("My Stuff") hit "Register new project"

- Fill out the details

- Wait for a admin to approve the project (all the opensim committers will have accounts capable of doing this)

Enjoy.

Adam
