[Opensim-dev] plans for mapapi support

Hi everybody,

The so-called "mapapi" mentioned here is the OGC-WMS and the OGC-WFS interface.
(see http://www.opengeospatial.org/)

This indeed opens a whole can of opportunities as other software (e.g. NASA worldwind, but not google earth!) uses the same interface.

On the other hand ..... This interface is far from being light-weighted

hello,

I wonder what the ideas of the development-team are, concerning mapapi support for OpenSim. There is what looks like a great ajax-GIS app(http://communitymapbuilder.org/), which can maybe do some of the hard work. Are there already plans for such a mashup, or is this maybe an opportunity to bring mapapi support to OpenSim?
