And in the spirit of progress, I will just go ahead and apply the patch, and we'll deal with the flipping later.

(I would argue that anybody using raw for sl<->os transfer has a problem, and if anybody is using raw solely for os terrain backup has another kind of problem. DON'T DO CRACK!)Best regards,Stefan AnderssonTribal Media AB

Either as SL type or the old flipped ones.I dunno - I really would like to see us avoid proliferation of option settings just to get around old inconsistencies like this. OpenSim.ini is already has a lot of settings :)I think that it's worth taking the pain of changing the default and letting people know that they will may need to flip their terrain using jonc's code, either from an external tool or via an internal terrain command.> > */Melanie /* wrote:> > In that case, the default load should be SL map, because they can> now be loaded from the client and when doing that, people receive a> flip image of what they wanted, with no way to change it.> > Melanie> > Justin Clark-Casey wrote:> > Stefan Andersson wrote:> >> I was thinking about supplying a 'terrain flip y' command.> >> > :) +1, sounds like a good solution - I imagine that shouldn't be> too hard to do either (though I haven't personally> > dipped that far into the terrain code).> >> >>> >> Best regards,> >> Stefan Andersson> >> Tribal Media AB> >>> >> Join the 3d web revolution : http://tribalnet.se/> >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >> > Date: Thu, 4 Dec 2008 11:52:29 +0000> >> > From: jjustincc at googlemail.com> >> > To: opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> > Subject: Re: [Opensim-dev] SL RAW imported flipped> >> >> >> > Stefan Andersson wrote:> >> > > Yes, I would imagine we would have a problem if we have saved> >> > > opensim-raws differently from sl-raws.> >> > >> >> > > If that is a problem I think we should introduce a 'sl'> terrain type,> >> > > that is a 'raw' but that imports and exports 'correctly'.> >> >> >> > Perhaps we could apply the patch and instead provide a script to> >> convert the old 'flipped' terrain maps to the> >> > 'unflipped' SL compatible format?> >> >> >> > >> >> > > Best regards,> >> > > Stefan Andersson> >> > > Tribal Media AB> >> > >> >> > > Join the 3d web revolution : http://tribalnet.se/> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------> >> > >> >> > > Date: Wed, 3 Dec 2008 13:17:54 +0100> >> > > From: lcc1967 at gmail.com> >> > > To: opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> > > Subject: Re: [Opensim-dev] SL RAW imported flipped> >> > >> >> > > if my memory served me well, we got a discution about> correcting or> >> not> >> > > the issue.> >> > > I tought it was something related to the already downloaded map.> >> > >> >> > > SM> >> > >> >> > >> >> > > On Wed, Dec 3, 2008 at 1:15 PM, Stefan Andersson> >>> >> > > > wrote:> >> > >> >> > > I can confirm that> >> > >> >> > > http://opensimulator.org/mantis/view.php?id=2315> >> > >> >> > > is still very much in effect - an exported SL terrain imports> >> > > flipped on the Y axis.> >> > >> >> > > There's a patch on this issue, and the issue is assigned to> Adam,> >> > > but last note is from 10/10 so I'd imagine this has rotted.> >> > >> >> > > Best regards,> >> > > Stefan Andersson> >> > > Tribal Media AB> >> > >> >> > >> >> > > _______________________________________________> >> > > Opensim-dev mailing list> >> > > Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> > > https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------> >> > >> >> > > _______________________________________________> >> > > Opensim-dev mailing list> >> > > Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> > > https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev> >> >> >> >> >> > --> >> > justincc> >> > Justin Clark-Casey> >> > http://justincc.wordpress.com> >> > _______________________________________________> >> > Opensim-dev mailing list> >> > Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> > https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev> >>> >>> >>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------> >>> >> _______________________________________________> >> Opensim-dev mailing list> >> Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> >> https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev> >> >> _______________________________________________> Opensim-dev mailing list> Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev> > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------> > _______________________________________________> Opensim-dev mailing list> Opensim-dev at lists.berlios.de> https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev-- justinccJustin Clark-Caseyhttp://justincc.wordpress.com_______________________________________________Opensim-dev mailing listOpensim-dev at lists.berlios.dehttps://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev
