[Opensim-dev] Changes to users table used by the UserServer

Thanks guys. You confirm my feelings which is basically to not make any changes to tables that are maintained by OpenSim. These changes might or might not be benign and I agree with privacy stuff.

I dont even want to know the addresses of the users of OSGrid. I would like to continue to have their e-mail addresses, but their mailing address is not useful.

So, I think OSGrid will continue with the Mambo stuff for a while until it becomes appropriate to change or enhance it.

Charles

p.s. I depend one you guys for guidance on this one as I am trying to avoid going into a web interface black hole for an unknown number of weeks.

p.p.s I know the existing Mambo is unfinished and limping along a little on a couple of fronts.

p.p.p.s I tend to favor evolution over revolution.

+1 on on this approach, that way, grids which wants that kind of information can have it, and others can ignore it.

I think the right approach for an addition of this is to make it another
table, not altering the existing table, as this information will not be
needed by OpenSim itself most of the time, so would be bad to have to
carry around all the time.
