This is all being discussed right now in Linden office hours.  The lack
of a -loginuri (or equiv) was an oversight.  One of the great things
about the RC process is it lets us all find those oversights. :)

Some equivalent will be added back to the client.  We'll still need to
create new server handshake for it in OpenSim.  Volunteers on the front
are welcomed. :)
