On some further fiddling with it, it seems like the latest master
is having some slight issues with baking; where I can tell that
sometimes I end up with a completely white avatar after removing
entire folder contents that contain attachments, skin, shape,
etc., or sometimes it just won't bake correctly at all when I wear
an entire folder (or sometimes individual clothing items). I found
that I had to force a rebake a few times (ctrl alt R) before NPC
creation in order to get the NPC to not load as a cloud.<br>
<br>
I believe you may be right as far as NPC's not supporting multiple
attachments. That's a bummer as I've been wanting to experiment
with more and more complex NPCs and attachment scripting :)<br>

It is very likely that NPC's cannot take multiple attachments,
as that is both a viewer function ( to attach) and a server
function ( to report it), <br>
and NPC's are fairly old and thus pre-date multiple
attachments. <br>

It has been past experience though that it doesn't matter if I
detach every thing first then reattach. <br>

I have seen that if I make a change to an attachment and then
create an NPC that change won't be reflected on the NPC's
version of the attachment until I first detach the attachment(s)
and then reattach. But to my knowledge I've never been able to
get an NPC to render correctly if it had more than one
attachment on the same attach point (Such as Hair (skull), Hat
(skull), Pants (Pelvis), Belt (Pelvis) ). <br>

Does it still happen if you first put on the attachments, and
then take them off, and put them back on again? <br>
<br>
I see your symptoms if that procedure is not followed, even
for single attachments, as Opens only saves the position when
removed, and not when attached. <br>
