Hi Wade,<br><br>Ja, hope the solution works with your model. I think so. Because SL Viewer perfectly supports the dae model if only you use jpg image (probably other image formats as well, but I haven't tested it). Don't forget to change the filenames in the dae file. And you can enjoy a lot of model from the SketchUp Online Library. <br>

Wow, Han, I was wondering how to do that myself. I created a Google
Sketchup model, and being really clever, I used lossless .png files
instead of lossy .jpgs. It was beautiful ... and over 10 meg in
size. Then I realized I needed to replace the png with jpg but
didn't realize the collada.dae itself could be edited to pick up the
changes.<br>

Great info.

It sounds very highly "scriptable", to automate this. Lots of
programs will convert image formats.<br>
Probably some nice PERL script would do it all. If I get tired
of working on what I'm supposed <br>
to be working on, and look for something to do to avoid work, maybe
I'll write it for you (us)<br>
if no one else has yet.<br>

Recently when I tried to import models downloaded from the
internet into my OpenSim/SL Viewer virtual world. I find out that
the reason that some models lose texture after import is that the
collada file is tif based, by which I mean the texture images are
in tif format which is not supported by the SL Viewer. So I
manually translate those images into jpg format and then modify
the dae file (a kind of xml) correspondingly. Finally it works!
But with some manual effort.<br>
<br>
So I am wondering if there is any existing tools that can
translate tif-based collada into jpg-based? Thanks!<br>
