Ok, if you aren't seeing any connection attempt information on the console when you are trying to connect with the viewer, then that is most likely a networking problem - the viewer is unable to connect with your server to process the login. If your networking settings were correct, then you would see the login attempt on the console.<div>
<br></div><div>So to troubleshoot, review the networking information at <a href="http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Network_Settings">http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Network_Settings</a> to make sure you have your network settings correctly configured and the proper ports forwarded on your router/open on your firewall. </div>
<div><br></div><div>Then the next thing to check is that your various ports are open to the outside world. I've used <a href="http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm">http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm</a> to help me verify that both TCP and UDP traffic is properly getting passed through my router and firewall.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Give that a try and let us know how it goes. :)</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck!</div><div><br></div><div>- Chris/Fleep</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Chris M. Collins (SL/OS: Fleep Tuque)</div>

That's right, that was my fault.<div>1.My operating system is Windows 7</div><div>2.I guess my version is plain Opensim (I got it from the binaries download in the wiki), though I'm not sure.</div><div>3.As I said, my database is the oneI downloaded from the wiki.</div>
<div>4.I'm running it in standalone mode.</div><div>5&6.There's nothing wrong with the console, but when I try to get the viewer to connect to the grid, I get 'Unable to connect to the grid. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong'</div>
<div>7. The console remains the same during the proccess, with a Region <myregionname> # line on it</div><div><br></div><div>Sorry for giving so little information last time and thanks</div>
