Actually, you can run Opensim in Grid Mode and use Diva's Wifi and she does provide basic instructions for setting it up. For an example of it working, can check out http://fleepgrid.com, see the Create Account page. Note that I did customize some of the HTML to match my branding but otherwise it's pretty much Wifi out of the box.

To download the Wifi and instructions (in one of the readme files, I believe), see: https://github.com/diva/d2/downloads and make sure to grab the package labeled "Wifi for Robust server" for the correct version of Opensim you're running (she has zips for both 0.7.0.2 and 0.7.1).

If I recall correctly, I found the instructions fairly straightforward, just make sure to read them carefully.

Best of luck!

- Chris/Fleep

Hi Justin

Nice to hear form you. I remember when I first started with opensim, it was
your blogs that got me started especially with setting up MySql for the
first time. So thanks for them.

Anyway I am running Diva with wifi on a standalone
If I use Hippo 0.6.3 when hitting search button it crashes the viewer
If I use Phoenix, search actually comes up but there is nothing appearing
when you do a search.
It looks like all secondlife stuff

Hippo has not been maintained for ages. I'm not surprised it crashes. You will need to use a different viewer.

The second point is I cannot when opening a friends profile drag and drop an
inventory item there.

Probably bug.

But what I am interested in doing, is, instead of running a standalone with
wifi. I would like to run grid with wifi. but I am not sure if this is
possible.

In principle it probably is. But I'm sure there aren't any instructions.

Also, if there is anyone out there that can help with getting groups to
work, instead of using OSGrid groups I would appreciate it.

Cheers Justin And Forum Users
