Hi Jacek,

Sorry I wasn't able to make it this week. I actually got my wires crossed and went there on Tuesday, hehe.

Anyway, I wanted to pitch a couple of ideas out to the group. One thing that pops up a good bit when discussing interactive devices, such as combat meters, it the lack of controls available. Something that might open up a few possibilities is to have the viewer able to switch keyboard modes, opening up some key configurations from the simulator via an osfunction to map selected keys into control functions. A function like osTakeControl(list keys) could send them as a request, then the user could accept or deny the device. Then the keys of interest could be fed into the control event for use by in-world scripts.

Another one that I have thought about is having the ability to push the textures generated by osDynamicTexture through an express rendering pipeline, giving them priority to get them rendered as quickly as possible.

Thanks!
BlueWall

On Thu, Apr 22, 2010 at 7:06 PM, Jacek Antonelli <jacek.antonelli@gmail.com> wrote:

Due to some severe technical issues afflicting OSGrid, we've moved the
discussion to IRC. Join us on the #uxig channel on irc.freenode.net.
If you don't have an IRC client, you can use this web-based client to
log in for the discussion:
