Ubit,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Actually I did install using the bin folder directly from the distribution
zip. I then copied the one .db file for the statistic, and built new
FlotsamCache.ini file using the example file and the information from my old
StandaloneCommon.ini file. I did the same with the standalone_common.ini
file. The only edit I did to the opensim.ini was to change from the grid
common include file to the standalone at the bottom of the .ini file.
It's the same process I've been using for all my grid regions and the
standalone that I have been using.
I'm going to try doing it directly on my windows machine rather than using
my Linux servers. I do have a sort of standalone on my desktop using only
the local address. I can try it with just a round island region with
nothing at all and use the internal SQL rather than mariadb.
I have not yet tried to update the several var regions I'm running on the
grid, and have been only updating the oceans and fill-in regions I have as a
starting point. I have not had any issues with the OSgrid regions. just
the standalone.
It's something that is missing so I may need to rebuild the standalone using
it's OAR file and reload my inventory from an IRA. I'll try that if I can
bring up a virgin standalone on my desktop.
Tom

Try to install on a new folder.
If you are using sqlite, copy files *.db from current to the new folder.
Copy Regions folder.
should also be safe to copy the assetcache folder
use the new ini files, edited to your needs/setup
SimianGrid support was removed. You may have files relative to it on your
bin folder
