[Opensim-users] OpenSim Permissions

Hello,

I am working with an instance of OpenSim where I’d like occasionally to make the sim Read-only. During this time, I’d like logged on users to be able to walk around, explore, run scripts (that don’t modify anything), but they shouldn’t be able to make any lasting changes (adding/moving/removing objects, textures, etc…). I’ve been trying this by running:
	bypass permissions true
	force permissions false
Which mostly does everything I need, except for a few inconsistencies. Avatars can remove clothing, but they cannot put on clothing, even if it’s the item they just removed. Avatars can change their shape, but if they log out and log back in, they become the cloud.

I opened a bug for this*, but I wanted to check here if anyone knew a better way of doing things.

Thanks,
-Pete
