I think that the breakage is more likely where the services bundle is using lower level OpenSimulator interfaces that
are not formalized and/or documented. I would say this is because the code has grown organically and sometimes things
have to change so that they make sense in the long term (this is one reason why I still regard OpenSimulator as an
"alpha" codebase). External users have to adapt if they are using these interfaces.
The 'higher' level protocol/interfaces (e.g. the methods exposed on the inventory service or the XMLRPC API) change much
less often.
I'm slowly trying to document various protocols/interfaces at [1] but it's slow going since there are an awful lot of
them. If there's anything specific people want to know then I'm happy to investigate/write things up when asked.
