[Opensim-users] Diva WiFi Query and Groups Modules (Chris Stevens)

Regarding 2, in grid mode one can enable a handler for creating users remotely [1]. This calls the same routines as
"create user" on the robust console command line and so creates user entries and a user inventory. In 0.7.3.1, one can
also set CreateDefaultAvatarEntries = true in the [UserAccountService] section of Robust.ini to create the minimum set
of body parts and clothing necessary and the right appearance entries to get an avatar to display in viewer 2/3 (in
viewer 1 one would see a Ruth even if there were no body parts or clothing).
This facilities is currently only available in grid mode and the avatar/body parts used are not configurable except by
direct patching.
Unfortunately, this facility is not available in standalone mode. In standalone, one can call the create user command
via RemoteAdmin [2] instead. This should still create a user entry and inventory but it is a different code path that
also has facilities to create clothing entries by reading from an XML file. However, I don't know for sure how well
this works right now with the various viewer combinations (I've never tried it, maybe someone can enlighten me).
In the future, the paths need to be brought together and provide the same configurability.
I suspect all other modules either set data via calling services (e.g. useraccounts, inventory) or even hit the database
directly.
