It would be good to have options whether to write the database at all and to nominate an alternative location. It
wouldn't be hard to do but I haven't had a need for that so far.
There's no security on the calls either which makes things a bit difficult if you don't want to expose that information.
The easiest way to provide security may be to extend the path with a random UUID, as is done for capabilities.
