[Opensim-users] Textures on Computer don't survive avvie quit

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: The computer tab is an Imprudence feature; it's not present  
in other viewers. It allows you to preview local files from your disk  
drive how they would look in-world. The changes you make this way will  
only be visible to you (and not others present in the same scene, unless  
I'm mistaken) and will not persist when you log off. To make permanent  
changes, you need to upload a texture and apply it from your inventory.  
Note that temporarily uploaded images (when the temporary checkbox is  
checked before upload) will also not persist.
