yes to answer you question about groups I have been able to get the floatsam
groups module to work
however I won't work in the standard wamp or lamp server stack I tried for a
couple of months
I searched for an xmlrpc server on the web and it led me to the zend server
I downloaded there community version and set it up on a small desktop
I only used the flotsam_XmlRpcGroup portion of the the project and set it
in the server root
I then configured the config file to point to a debase I named groups
I also imported the sql tables into the database
if your standalone has been connected to osgrid then the groups should be
configured in it
the only thing you need to change is the url in the opensim.ini file
GroupsServerURI = http://xxx.xx.xx.xx/XmlRpcGroupsServer/xmlrpc.php
this will need to point to your groups server
hope this is helpful
Gary

Subject: Re: [Opensim-users] A couple of Qestions
Hi Justin
Nice to hear form you. I remember when I first started with opensim, it was
your blogs that got me started especially with setting up MySql for the
first time. So thanks for them.
Anyway I am running Diva with wifi on a standalone
If I use Hippo 0.6.3 when hitting search button it crashes the viewer
If I use Phoenix, search actually comes up but there is nothing appearing
when you do a search.
It looks like all secondlife stuff
The second point is I cannot when opening a friends profile drag and drop an
inventory item there.
But what I am interested in doing, is, instead of running a standalone with
wifi. I would like to run grid with wifi. but I am not sure if this is
possible.
Also, if there is anyone out there that can help with getting groups to
work, instead of using OSGrid groups I would appreciate it.
Cheers Justin And Forum Users
