[Opensim-users] OpenSim Migration Success

Working with Kimberly Rufer-Bach's firm The Magicians, I very recently
participated in migrating a relatively complex educational business
simulation from Second Life to an out-of-the box latest-version OpenSim
private grid.

We did encounter several minor issues, for most of which workarounds were
developed.  Beyond those, though, the platform meets the needs of the
simulation and bodes well for implementations similar in functional
complexity, script load, and messaging density.

This project mandates text chat for the purposes of logging, searchability,
and later review and analysis, so voice chat was not explored.

OpenSim appears to offer a capable platform for quite complex scripted
applications - educators and non-profits should definitely consider it as an
option.
