And in many cases the default behavior is a NAT'd network. If you want your VM accessible from the outside you probably need to look into setting up in bridged mode using whatever is appropriate for your VMM.

It may depend on what kind of VM application you are using, but I have noticed that each virtual machine I run is assigned a separate IP address by my router. Possibly you will need to determine the IP of the VM where you are running OpenSim, and of course check for firewall issues. You may need to ensure that a port is open for transmitting to/from your VM through your router. I have used both Parallels and VirtualBox to run VMs on MacOS X, with guest OSs Windows XP and Windows 7RC, and several flavors of Linux. They all display this behaviour of being assigned their own IP address.

I installed opensim in a Virtual Machine which is installed Debian (Linux), I'm having mistakes about the configuration.
I can access opensim at intranet, on the other hand I can't access using other network.
Does it have any specific configuration for use opensim with a VM?
