you probably should upgrade, but rather because this is the recommended version to test against according to Charles Krinke.
other than that, said issue is in there, too, as far as I understand.

As far as I can tell you are right. I am running Ubuntu 8.10 with Opensim
r8006 and everything is fine until Ianother avatar or two show up then they
slow and stop then they are automatically logged out.
Here is the error I get when it happens:
[CLIENT]: Client for agent Test User dda09545-ff80-4a4f-80c2-e9369e9fa8ee
has stopped responding to pings. Closing connection
Guess I need to upgrade to at leaset r8068? :)
