[Opensim-users] getting started

I'm believe I have followed the directions on the wiki, 
correctly---maybe not.    I'm running opensim.exe standalone.   When I 
start opensim.exe for the first time, it prompts for some settings.  I 
take the defaults on all of them.

Opensim.exe is running on machine 192.168.1.7

I try connecting the SL client to it from another machine (happens to be 
192.168.1.8).  Using the commaind secondlife.exe -loginuri 
http://192.168.1.7:9000/ -loginpage http://192.168.1.7:9000/?method=login

It doesnt seem to be connecting.  Instead I end up on the SL grid.   Of 
course Test User with password test doesn't exist so log in fails.  I 
never see any thing in the console indicating that a connection was made.

Firewalls are turned off. 

Any ideas?
