Hi <div><br></div><div>Although RAW files can only really handle +ve values, once you've imported your file into opensim there is nothing stopping you applying -ve offsets to that terrain from the region console rather than shifting the water level up to give you the desired depth of sea.</div>
<div><br></div><div>for example - terrain rescale -500 30 - will drop the sea bed to 520 meters below the default water level whilst leaving a few islands above the waves, and because you aren't adjusting the water level it will stay at 20 meters and fit in with void regions.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Visibility is limited and it can get pretty dark at that depth, in fact at any vertical offset below 0, but then again so does the real sea 20m below it's surface, so you get quite a realistic deep sea experience.</div>
<div><br></div><div>regards</div><div><br></div><div>jonc<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">2009/7/10 Colin B. Withers <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:Colin.Withers@eumetsat.int">Colin.Withers@eumetsat.int</a>></span><br>
<blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">By using a RAW file it is possible to get a water level up to 255m and land up to 510m (for those who wish to really have deep sea sims (well, 255m IS deep if you have been restricted to 20m for a long time!).<br>
<br>
The only problem is the mismatch between the sea level in the region, and the sea-level in the void sea that surrounds it. Is there any way to get the sea-level in the void sea to match that in the region?<br>
