Hi Diva,

The trailing "/" on the assets server uri was hanging me (Linux/32 bit). It was there in the OpenSim.ini.example, so I just pasted my address over the supplied host:port pair. I haven't looked into the source to see what is happening with it (we have a history of inconsistent behavior with trailing slashes on url), but it was a real puzzle for a while.

Thanks!
BlueWall

On Wed, May 27, 2009 at 12:51 PM, <diva@metaverseink.com> wrote:

Yes, that's the goal on my end. Those small XXXCommon.ini's in
config-include are just the tip of the iceberg. Basically, separate the
few *required* user data (like DB connection strings, server URLs, etc)
from the optional, more advanced configurations. Then most people will
only need to focus on the former, and ignore the 100's of variables in
the latter. Or maybe have three levels:
- required settings,
- you-may-want-to-change-these settings, and
- stay-away-from-these-unless-you-know-what-you're-doing settings

It all depends on how we make use of it. This can be horribly
complicated, but it really doesn't need to be.
